It is tedious to upgrade the warcry slotted in Ferocious Roar

Skill gems taking a support slot are difficult to upgrade because they don't show up in the gemcutting menu. You need to put them in a active skill slot to upgrade them.

Then you need to change your weapon so that the skill become usable, otherwise the game won't let you touch it. In my case, I need to remove my Talisman to upgrade Ancestral Cry, in the process spilling Molten Crash's support gems in my inventory (my weapon is Fury of the King). Again, tedious.

And even if you disable the gemcutting restriction in the game options, applying a higher skill gem to upgrade an existing one you've equipped but cannot use creates a new gem! This is highly undesirable for obvious reasons.

Dude…. Go to the tab that shows all your upgradable gems. My CoC slotted gems show up in there same with my Pounce slotted mark gem

If you mean the Equipped Gems tab then no, it doesn't show.

If you play using controller the UI has an "upgradeable" section for gem upgrades, in which it would be included.

On PC with M/KB it is entirely too easy to forget to upgrade your mace-centric warcry gem if you socket it into ferocious roar because it doesn't show up in the equipped tab, like you have demonstrated.
