A good solution. Increase possible room levels and adjust loot accordingly . Make it so that you can go up to level 5, with level 4/5 increasing difficulty of all enemies to a point just shy of unique lethality.make Lock medallions only work on level 1/2. Room destabilizing chance depends on first how many you have placed followed by their level with higher levels being more likely to destabilize. Make make high level rooms with locks possible to move to a different place on destabilizing thus breaking the chain. Make high level rooms that have been around longer higher likely to move/destabilize.
The architect should also have a chance of forcing the fight even if no rooms connected. If you have a lot of rooms high level, then as you walk thru a door there's a chance you get teleported to the fight.
