" My most recently rolled character is a dual totem sporker, and well, it is pretty depressing how effective it is. It does require a negligible amount of gear to excel well in, shav's with ll/rf is just icing on the cake. It probably helps that I also went CI, and when I want to mf, I just move the point and slap on some wondertraps for easy mf'ing. FP mf'ing was faster, in my experience, but you're open to a lot more danger (reflect, melee in general). I can't remember the last time I came anywhere relatively close to dying on my sporker, and her gear is pretty good, I guess, but my spork is only on 4 link. Like others have said, the problem lies moreso in spell totem itself. |

I will try to chime in :)
My main char remains a Leap Slam marauder (no GS for me, all guts, life leech and reckless abandon!!!) However, I have been curious about the hate on sporkers from some people so I chose to do a 100% self found solo sporker to see the result. I am just shy of hitting lvl80 now and here are the benefits: - still using a 4l (self found tends to get that) and doing massive dps. When I hit lvl 80, I can respec about 9 points into crit for more. - the survivability technique of self found for this build should be CI imo. Without shavs it works and all you need is a couple of seconds to recover from a blow. I currently only have 4.4k es. - the lack of getting hit means you can greatly limit the hp/es nodes and invest most of your points into dps, which goes against the philosophy of most builds - goodbye, reflect! - 3 zombies with 7k life each rolling about getting in the way so I barely ever get hit - it's true that I have only managed to stack 107% iir and 10% iiq since I haven't bought anything but it's possible to get a lot more as others have pointed out Overall, the build is effective, simple to play, yields great rewards and you are actually COMPLETELY in charge of the downfalls (i.e. equipping andvariuses or going LL without chaos res) I do like it. It isn't man mode by any means; it's a short amount of time in relaxation land. I see the love for it and I also agree with the hate. I have a beastly computer and a solid connection, but someone else might not appreciate having the screen fill up with effects. Even I have had one desync death on this char. (solo too!) On top of this, people who appreciate the "beauty" of getting demolished by dangerous monsters might not like the availability of a "proxy" character doing all the talking and the walking for you, which is basically what totems end up doing. And also, some people would DEFINITELY gripe about mf-ers safely farming high level content to their heart's content until you - the "regular" player - can't even sell your items for a wisdom scroll. The truth is that there are many viable builds in PoE, some more exploitative than this one. But the above is how people PERCEIVE sporkers... and perception is a very important thing indeed. Exile is an illusion, exile!

" Of course there are, my good man, but they all require more investment to work, either economic or interactive. Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.

A sporker is a character that makes other people jealous.
It's a character that makes people bitch on the forums and whine that they don't have a shavs or they can't loot shit. Spork is something that draws a clear line between people who are lazy and bitch all the time and between the people who work for something instead of waiting for it to drop into their lap they're bitching on the forums about spork being op. Oh and spork is probably the most tiresome character to play for a long period. IGN

" tl dr sporker is trash i would delete mine because it so so boring to play but it gives me too many $$$$$ for boredom. The rest of the 'end-game' content will be available along with a heap of new stuff when the game launches in a few months time. From what I've seen it's going to be awesome. - Michael_GGG Last edited by tobes111#6962 on Sep 20, 2013, 5:38:14 AM

Although I (as loud majority here) dislike sporkers because they can encourage lazy/instawin playstyle I don't think "bitching" vs them or players using them would get me anywhere.
In short - each to his own. Live and let live. If some players found otherwise stressful and demanding gameplay of this title too harsh (I don't, mostly) - let them make sporkers. If some players like to farm and sell via painful sell system, why not, we need supply of good items cheaply. IGN STD Ajax_Deadeye| Nathaniel_Corwin| Itane_Shira| Tetra_Mayani| Arkanis_Gath
