Shrines could be longer and more dangerous

30 seconds seems too brief to effect much beyond the surrounding pack, 45 seconds would be enough time to attack some proximal packs too. Duration itself might be more engaging if it could be extended i.e +1 second per kill.

Shrines could be even more fun if tagging was formidable. To that end I'm not sure what could be done beyond making the buffed monsters stronger or requiring some charge up time while tagging, that would make you more vulnerable i.e. 1-2 seconds standing still to tag.

Overall, I like shrines. Their effects could be better explained, maybe.

Edit: They did increase shrine duration.

i've found them rather underwhelming so far, might be different in maps but out in the world they need surrounded by blue monsters with a rare or 2 just to make it "dangerous"

The only ones that posed any thread was one on the sewers where the volume of monsters blocked the way to the shrine and a few chaos damage mobs at their back throwing stuff at me and occasionally where you get 2 shrines fairly close.

The idea is sound but the implementation atm is rather lacking

A couple days in to the new league and I find the addition of shrines so boring since I have dealt with shrines before in previous games that I see no point in continuing to play the new league. As I wrote before the shrines need more cool abilities lets take a moment to remember some of the old shrines from a previous notable game:
D1: shrines that changed your potions, added damage to weapon at cost of durability, etc. These were interesting the shrines in POE are so straightforward, player runs up gets shrine that adds cold nova,lit nova, etc. Wouldn't it have been cooler to have more original/ eccentric quirky shrine ideas?

The addition of exiles was phenomenal since it was more original. The new league could have added new exiles with more complicated builds and shrines that do more then straightforward crap, wheres the mf shrine? or how about a enduring cry shrine that makes monsters come to you? Not all shrines have to be beneficial.

Or even better the next league could be self found crafting oriented league since crafting in this game could use a overhaul from the present one handed banditry.

I found some shrines more dangerous than others. Shrines that give life leech, or the god forsaken diamond shrine, are terrifying.

Others like the skeleton one were really bad.
A scion may be born of the rich, and as such hold more opportunity...
but a scion will never be able to appreciate the finer beauty of those less fortunate.
I agree some are a little goofy.

Going to say, in general these things to me just mean 'sweet, monster packs for easy farming'

The actual shrine tends not to be too scary, and wit hmy build I can normally leap slam next to the shrine itself and just activate it.

The effects once activated tend to be fairly underwhelming. The shock nova, things die too quick to care. The frost nova, kinda nice for slow, but overall not scary. Resistance? Meh I don't use it for tanking. Massive? Extra life, well not really needed for tanking as not near a boss. Thorns? Lol


I would support being able to put ONE shrine into a flask, so that you could then activate it at a more useful date, but this might be an OP unique flask
For sure. I don't presently see any reason not to include MF shrines or trapped shrines, as some examples.
