Increase physical damage node

Thanks for all the answers.
It seems like you are contradicting the earlier response though.
Are you saying that Increased Physical Damage (IPD) from nodes DO in fact add to the total from the weapon? So that in the above example I made, where base damage is 50-100, and with 100% IDP, damage becomes 100-200, and with the 30% node it DOES become 130-260?

Also, if (IPD) on weapon does not add to physical damage on other items, then nodes that say 'IDP on axes,' (or has some other condition), also does NOT increase IDP coming from these other items (as they are not axes even if you are using an axe as well)?

EDIT: Isn't there a place somewhere where this is described in detail? I couldn't find anything on the wiki (which is why I asked here)

I'm not contradicting myself but in the first response I thought you were asking something else, yeah, it's my bad :)

Physical damage increases on weapons stay on weapons, the damage number you see on it is your base damage for further calculations (you might need to add flat physical damage on jewelry to that too, if you got any).

In the first answer I was talking about increases to damage you got on your character, and those just add up, like increased physical with one handed, increased physical with swords, increased melee physical, increased damage on other gear pieces and so on.

So yeah, increases on weapons and increases on your character multiply each other, and we even got another layer of 'false' increases, those are 'enemy takes % increased damage' that's a multiplier too even though it says 'increased. And it works like that because it's applied to a different object, we say 'all increases add up' but we actually mean 'all increases on you add up' and that's for convenience sake, we don't really use weapon increases in calculations, we can already see base damage on weapons so there's no need.

Extra info:
There are a few exceptions, though but they're all special cases and on unique items. If a weapon had '50% increased damage while drunk' it would not stay on the weapon, it would apply to your character and add up to other increases you got. Those should kinda have 'global' tag, like critical chance can be local and modify weapon base crit chance and it could be global and just add to other crit chance increases on your character. A good example is also Pillar of God staff, it has '16% increased melee physical damage per 10 strength' and that is your character bonus, not a weapon bonus.

Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.

Alright then. I think I am slowly getting it then :)

I am asking because I have found Kaom's Primacy and it has a pretty good damage on weapon.
I will try to gain a lot of IDP nodes then as that should make my DPS skyrocket.

Thank you for your patience :)
