Chaos resistance as a whole

I want to suggest adding more chaos resistance nodes in the Marauder, Duelist and between Shadow/Ranger trees.
Currently, there are only 4 (i think ) chaos resistance nodes. 3 of them and close to the witch and shadow trees. The other one is between the duelist/ranger trees. All resist nodes do not grant chaos resist, almost all CR nodes are close to the witch tree, which is a minus to builds that don't focus around intellect. Then we don't have any rings that grant chaos resist, the prismatic rings don't grant it. Currently, for characters that are focused in spending their passive points around the marauder/duelist/ranger part of the tree, it's almost impossible to gain chaos resist other than items with CR mods and 1 passive node that gives 8 %. In merciless the minus is 60 %, meaning if we want to have at least 20-30 % CR, we'll need to have at least 5 items with chaos resist mods. Personally I'd go back to what it was before OB. No chaos resist penalty at higher diff, no chaos resist nodes or mods on gear.
It worked so well, why the change ? edit: alright, maybe keep the chaos resists nodes in the tree so that non-CI characters in that part of the tree who have no other way of mitigating chaos damage have a fair chance... Last edited by Thalandor#0885 on Jan 28, 2013, 9:30:26 AM

Change in CI is to blame. But I think is a good change. You have now a choice. CI or stack Life and Chaos Resi.

Well, actually now CI only makes chaos dmg not bypass the energy shield, so even CI bros are forced to take a 2-3 CR items.

Did you tested it? or you spread hearsaying of other people? Ci makes you IMMUNE to chaos dmg so no dmg at all is dealt neither to life nor shield. Confusion is made becouse some mobs dealt mixed phys and chaos dmg, so shield got wear down by normal part of their dmg.
