Questions about "EK" Ethereal Knives!

Does "EK" Work with Point Blank, Iron Grip etc. and what affects this Skill the most?

Spells and attacks are both two different categories of skills. Ethereal Knives works with neither Point Blank nor Iron Grip because they affect projectile attacks specifically, not spells.

You will probably see the most benefit from spell damage modifiers, the Hatred aura, and the Added Fire Damage support gem. The latter two add elemental damage that scales off of your physical damage, which is what Ethereal Knives uses. Besides those, the typical projectile supports will do wonders for an Ethereal Knives build, such as Chain, Fork, and Greater/Lesser Multiple Projectiles.

If you want more physical damage, the projectile damage nodes affect spells, and there is also Iron Will support

His advice may be a little misleading...
Ethereal knives is a spell... It is also composed of projectiles. It will be effected by anything that effects projectiles and spells. if you look at the top of a skill gem it will show you what category of support gems it will be effected by. Ethereal knives has both the spell and projectile listed.

However EK is not a ranged attack, it is a spell. So iron grip will not work, however Iron Will support gem will work. Point blank will work as it effects projectiles not ranged attacks.
Some of the best support gems for EK are the added damage supports such as lightning, chaos and fire. Projectile speed on items is also good as it increases the total range of EK and the projectile weakness curse is also great for some bonus effects like knockback.
Basically the main difference to keep in mind is that ranged attacks are direct attacks that come from weapons and spells are different although both can be projectiles.

Edit: Just checked again to make sure, and this is the case for both the support gem and keystone passive.

It doesn't. Ethereal Knives is a projectile spell, and Point Blank (both keystone passive and support gem) only works with projectile attacks.

I would love if someone who has the Point Blank support can confirm if it works with projectile spells, since it sounds great with Freezing Pulse
