I can't decide what raider ascendancy points I should pick

I wanted to make a raider for the next league that uses static strike. It seems to be better to use two handed weapons because the frequency of SS beams do not depend on attack speed. Also I am planning on exploiting the synergy between SS and phase run.

Since I'm going to be dealing elemental damage, I think Avatar of the Veil is a no brainer, however I just can't decide if I should take Avatar of the chase or slaughter. They both seem to be essential to what I want to do (go fast).

I want phase run to have a long uptime (for feelsgoodman darkness diving in delving) and zoom zooms. So this means I want to stack frenzy charges, right? So then Avatar of the Slaughter seems like the logical choice...

But then again the bonuses of going for Chase just seem really tough to give up as well (onslaught always up in fights, 130% increased onslaught effect, which means going fast, and MORE chance to evade stuff...)

At the moment I think that if I have something like 9 Frenzy charges that will almost make up for the lost onslaught bonuses if I have AoS. But then again that requires investing in frenzy charges in the tree, but then again I was probably going to do that anyway, I think...

Thoughts?

Chase has a potential to be the strongest defensive ascendancy in game, but it requires serious investment in evasion and additional evade chance. You would also want frenzy charges most likely thus you would have to find some other way to generate them..

So I think, if you are going to have high evasion (like 30k+) and willing to maintain frenzy charges "manually", go Chase. You wont regret that because what you get can be very close to "Immune to attacks".. Otherwise go Slaughter

Thanks for the input Ludvator. I'll keep that in mind. I may have to reconsider my build idea however, The options to scale two handed damage are downright terrible near the ranger starting area.
I did a Frost Blades Raider just to try it out, and it sucked. Way too squishy of a character for a close up melee build. It's doable but I was dying too easily. The problem with a high evasion and/or dodging build is even if you get it really high, once you're in the tier 10+ maps all it takes is one hit to get one shot and die.

I wouldn't do it again, I've had much better luck with ranged skills for the Ranger, probably why they call it Ranger. So either a bow and arrow or Spectral Throw is what I would suggest. I went Avatar of the Veil and Rapid Assault is as far as I got. I figure if I went for Frenzy charge upgrades then I would have to learn them in my tree as well, which would mean less skill points available for life, so I would die even more.
