Just CTRL+select the map to start a new instance and fix it. :)

Killed Metamorph in Act 4 Kaom's Stronghold, crashed with error message in topic. Restarted game, went back and as I got within a screen of where Metamorph was killed, game crashed again with the same message. | |

GUYS I FOUND A SOLUTION
If the game keeps crashing in the area after you've done a Metamorph thingy, just reset the instance (CTRL + left click on the entrance that leads you to Kaom's Stronghold). It worked for me, should work for anyone else stuck in another area. Edit : someone had already said found this solution in the previous page. But at least it is freshly showed on this one.
