My computer completely shuts down when I'm playing PoE.

I've a similar problem where my computer will occasionally power-off and then turn itself back on while playing PoE. For me, this only happens in groups and typically only when the screen is getting pretty intense graphically. It has all the hallmarks of the GPU overheating, except that it isn't. This only happens for me in PoE; every other game I own runs perfectly even at much higher GPU temperatures. This has happened for more than a year and has managed to resist every attempt at finding a work-around or explanation.

So, you aren't alone, but I have no solution for you to try either :(

¿Did it happen with lower graphics?
i got the same issue.

I can't launch poe anymore.

When the log in screen appear: my computer shut down or i got a black screen and the fan of my graphic card seem run at the maximum speed...

Sorry for my English, it's not my native language.
Check all your power connections to the power supply.

In my experience, random reboots/shutdowns sometimes happen because a device is receiving just enough power to turn on, but when it needs additional power and it isn't there, it shuts down to prevent itself from getting damaged.

If your power supply is older, it may be failing or underpowered for your system.

I just had the exact same issue same error code in Windows Event viewer, etc.

Event ID 41 - The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly.

System: Asus Rog Strix G614JU
Nvidia GeForce RTX 4050
I had the same problem.

Every other game worked perfectly, but only Path of Exile 1 caused my PC to shut down after several minutes.

I changed every available setting and nothing helped.

Eventually, I ran a few stress tests with AIDA64, and my PC shut down almost immediately during the FPU stress test.

I realized the issue was with my CPU cooling (since the FPU test heavily stresses the CPU). I replaced the CPU fan, and that completely fixed the problem.

my pc is:

os: Windows 11
CPU: AMD 5950X
GPU 4090
