The global energy shield, evasion and armour crafted mods at Elreon's Blessed Font are now prefixes. Existing mods are unaffected.
What happens when we divine an already existing global suffix mod tomorrow after change?

Yeah..like I just I totally agree man, I can't like..even man! Pffft, I need a starbucks.
Lol just messin' with ya, but I totally agree. This patch wasn't balance, it was just nerfs. Nerfing is definitely needed, but only to the point of balance. You can't nerf the only viable things and then give them nothing back...that doesn't make any sense. This patch should have brought block/crit/etc..back in line, but also buffed some other options at the same time. Also they went WAY to extreme on how hard they nerfed.
Side note on Atziri : I don't own 'em and probably never will, but that was such a stupid way to nerf them, you make legacy items all the time why not make those legacy as well? You're literally just changing the numbers on how they leech...this is ridiculous and it makes me fear having any sort of gg item because what's the point of investing if they just decide to tear it all down.

Atziri's Acuity: The modifier that makes leech apply instantly on critical strikes now has it apply instantly at 60% effectiveness. Existing versions of this item are affected by this change.
Now will the QQ stop?
The people who spent HUNDREDS of EX should start some QQ

2) The Steam Achivemente are clear: only 44.7% of the players get to kill Brutus (over 50% of players quit even before), only 37.7% of players kill Merveil and only 14.6% of the players finish the game in Normal difficutly. More of the 85% of the players who started playing PoE have never seen Cruel difficulty. I think the problems of the game are different, and i am convinced that the percentages mentioned above will not changes much after the release of 1.3. The game is dying.
I don't play the Steam version of the game so I've never heard of those achievements, but if those numbers are correct, then Wow! Clearly if these numbers are accurate then this is where GGG needs to focus if they want to grow the game.
I generally agreed with everything this user posted though.
I can also say I know of a few people that fairly recently just bought acuity gloves that will be completely pissed off. I know I would be, but that is a whole other level to what my budget is.
I think in general this patch is a good example of too big of a change all at once. It greatly surprises me to see GGG make such big changes to the blocking system and all(?) items used for blocking at once. Can't help but think GGG has swung too far to one side and will have to over-correct to get the game back on track. I would love to know if after this patch the number of melee players increases (number of or percentage of total players), as I would expect the numbers to actually decrease as a result of these changes.

Nerfed items = legacy, ok.
Guys, what about the gems? Nerfed gems will also become legacy or not?

"We choose to play melee. We choose to play melee in this patch and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard, because that goal will serve to organize and measure the best of our energies and skills, because that challenge is one that we are willing to accept, one we are unwilling to postpone, and one which we intend to win, and the others, too." ~JFK

All that whining makes me go mad.
It was about time block is getting adjusted, it is a defensive mechanic just like armor evasion and dodge, to lower or prevent incoming damage.
Is there capped Armor/ Evasion can you achieve it? NO, Can you keep up a "capped" dodge chance? NO, not without frenzy charges and Darkrays.
We all just got used to that way of undoing pretty much all damage and there was no real effort needed to achieve it. The new Counter skills hopefully offer a different way to play melee, we only got to see it's short describtion yet so there is no way we can judge their effect that early.
This game starts to become a challange again and this is good. I for myself love those changes though I'd have loved to see some nerfs on Flameblast and Tornado Shot ( well they got hit in some way with reduced Critmulti / lower Blockchance).
Improvements to barely/ unused skills would have been nice to see, but I for myself can wait for that since I have a couple of things to experiment with in the coming 2-3 months.
___
To those people crying about the lack of content added.
- We get 8 new Skillgems.
- A huge bunch of new Unique items of which some could be new build enablers / improvements.
- And for those who enjoy it PVP and a additional Master is added to the game. (I enjoy it:)! )
show me one friggin game that is free and being updated and taken care of in these short ammounts of time.
____
I really hope the people at GGG dont take the rant all too serious, what they offer us every three to four months is great content and constant diversity in the game and I wish more people showed them the reputation they deserve.
In these words, good job once again! I cant wait for the Update to go live:)!
PS: call me a fan-boy, couldn't care less.
Well said on all points, saved me writing the same thing. (except I would not have been so nice)
Thanks GGG!

I know I won't be completely giving up my Mara. I have him on the back burner right now, but that's more because I'm having fun with my Witch at the moment. :)
Looking forward to trying these new changes to see how they affect my chars, and if I'll be needing to make use of the passive reset. Usually I don't need to, but my builds are nowhere near on the level of CoC/block/Acuity/whatever all the GG people are using.
