Enki's Arc Witch Memorial Page

Yeah baby! Finally saved up and found this bargain for 20 chaos, really good rolls for that price:

What a huge difference that makes. Build really feels like it's coming together now. Gearing is now:

Let me know if you have ideas for what I should prioritize next.

Hi, I'm a brand new player and I've decided to follow your guide for my first chracter, but I'm now lvl 36 and I'm running out of non-crit-related nodes to take. I've been advised to ignore those for the time being, which makes sense as I lack crit gear AND I'm running controlled destruction, so it'll be a while before they do anything at all.
So, what's the progression here? Do I start taking the crit nodes anyway even if this puts me behind until I can afford the items I need? Do I rush some early-game crit gear (is that even a thing)? Do I take another path and then respec?
Or should I just give up on the crits and build some other way (as my gut tells me to)? If so, what's an alternative?

Are you following the step-by-step trees? Enki has been so nice as to upload skill trees for 20, 40, 60, 80, 100 and 123 points. Following those I always had Life-nodes to pick up and only around level 60 started to really focus on Crit.

Yeah, I'm following those. I'm at the point where I've taken most of the stuff on the left hand side, and it seems that many of the nodes on the right are crit-related. Not entirely crit-related, but enough that I expect their impact to be much lower than what I've taken so far, lacking the proper gear.
Meanwhile, my item progression gets slower and slower, and I fully expect that at level 60 I'll still be wering most of the worthless crap I'm wearing now. That's why I'm questioning my choice of this build. I suspect that I'm about to fall behind the power curve and stay there for a really long time.
Hello again, I just ripped at 50 because I did not pay attention. At what point do you suggest to spec into Mind over Matter?

I am going to give this build another go, didnt even got the chance to start using Arc properly.

Thanks.

Odd. My power curve has been steadily rising. I clear Map groups faster now than I cleared Ledge groups in Cruel.

One thing is true: 5-link body for Arc is pretty essential. I was able to buy a fine one for very cheap though, 2 or 3 chaos orbs I believe.
@asdu: While it's true that those crit nodes don't do much during the early levels, we still have to take them to efficiently travel to the lifenodes and Coordination in shadow area. As your char progresses, they get more and more effective.

Item progression while leveling is always slow, i end up wearing some stuff from a1n all the way to merc lake. As long as you get to endgame, where you can start equipping real gear it's all good.

@SilverWF: Awesome, grats!

@steve444: This is the tree i'm using on my Lv92 Arcer in Standard. I've intentionally left out the step between 100pts and 123pts, to challenge the reader a bit into figuring out what they profit from more with their gear & playstyle.

@madmaneeee: I'm not a big fan of Pledge for this build, but if you really wanna run it simply replace Dark Arts with Serpent Stance and if needed, a +30 dex node.

@Grunker: Nice one! I think your next step should be upgrading everything that has a low life roll with something with top rolls. After that, you could look for a really good dagger, Vinktar or even a 6L chest once those become cheaper.

@Machinehead666: Damn, rip! I would take MoM once you can keep atleast 600 unreserved mana with AA and Warlord's Mark up, and around 80-100 mana/s to accompany your leech.

Hi Enki, thx for the guide. I've been following it on my first lategame character, I'm 88 right now. Would you mind taking a look at my char and see what I should look into upgrading next? I find it hard to find significant upgrades that aren't listed as 5exa+ at this point.
Since I've decided to use only daggers (maybe dagger+scepter at later lvls), so I helped Alira at cruel (+5% cast speed) then :)
Hope, it wouldn't ruin too much, but I feel myself really better with that 5% extra cast speed percents :)

Bougth Call of the Brotherhood at Essence for 19c (not really good stats) and literally in 10 minutes later got my own ring
from Brutus! >< But stats are really good! :)

Also, finished cruel lab in 1st try: started at 52 and finished at 55. Damn, I really love that build! :)
I'm so happy because my flame totem templar has nearly 20 tries of cruel lab and only 2 or 3 has been failed at final fight - I've done it only at 62 lvl!
Maybe it's only me, but nearly 50% of success is because Wirling Blades :)
Auctioneer House - is a MUST!

Sorry if this has already been answered, but why Enlighten over Reduced Mana in the Arctic Armour/Warlords Mark combo?
Is there any reason not go for an inquisitor if my goal is to farm end game maps?

Hi, i have leveled my char and have slightly more then 100 points now.
the options i have open are storm weaver, arcane potency, overcharge and 5 gem nodes

my crit rate is 28% now, (getting there), i guess i'm going to try a few setups to see what feels right.

(right now it seems like storm weaver + 4 or 5 gems + overcharge woudl be best.
arcane potency looks tempting but it requires more points to reach)
