The disconnections at the moment are due to a problem in our deployment process. We'll investigate.

No worries. I just wanted to report it in case it was bug-worthy.
In my experience, rares are common, but good rares are, in fact, rare.

But yeah, it's easy to run out of scrolls identifying rares if you're some levels over the area.

I have no idea how anyone would not have enough portal scrolls. You must have the strangest luck.

Some fast changes.

Scroll of wisdom change I feel was 100% needed.

Got a lightning witch to about half way act 2 normal. Previously had witches over level 50 HC.

I was liking the mana management needed in aoe vs single target spells. I am using primarily shock nova and sparks and had no issues with damage. However this is on normal and I'm used to harder difficulties.

The biggest issue for me atm is farming of bosses. I hate farming bosses but if its the easiest way to get the best items im going to do it. Not sure how you can fix it without changing how instances work though.

Loving the new patch as a whole though.

But I also feel that Rare items are far too common. They don't feel rare, and they're common enough that I don't feel any urge to use Magic items.

I like feedback like this - does anyone else agree/disagree? I'd prefer to experiment with a marginally lower drop rate of magic/rare items (given the huge boosts to boss drop spam recently).

Rare items do seem to drop a lot. I have 2 stash pages full of unidentified rares. Definitely need more wisdom scrolls.

I need like 40 wisdom scrolls just to ID the rares in my stash. I don't know how you have so many. As for portal scrolls, I have 50+ of those.

I do. I never dipped below 20 ID scrolls once I reached that point, but I almost ran out of TP scrolls 3 times now.

I agree, see rares all over the place. However as mentioned previously im hugely against boss farming.

I don't even read white item names anymore even on low level normal.

I think rares are fine as they are right now. Maybe they could use a slight drop rate decrease. As others said, good rares are indeed rare.

  • Restored the potency of mana flasks and set mana-gain-per-level back up to 5, undoing the change from the 0.9.3b patch. We'll investigate mana in more detail this week.

Just to clarify:
Mana per level was 4 in 0.9.3a, not 5. It has been changed back to the previous 4 mana per level, rather than increased to 5.

  • Created a two level safe zone around your level where no currency item droprate penalty is applied.

Is this plus or minus two, or plus or minus 1 level (two levels in either direction including your level)?

More simply, which is true for a level 10 character:
a) safe zone includes levels 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12
or
b) safe zone includes levels 9, 10, and 11
or
c) safe zone includes levels 8, 9, and 10 (only affects monsters lower level than you, no penalty fighting higher-level monsters)

Within the first 6 levels of playing I have had 3-4 rares drop. First rare had 10% movement speed buff on the boots amongst other things. I was laughing.

It's not all bad though, at the current rate you'd be able to test the modifer generation on the rare items! Hah!
