The Cults of the Dragon and the Colossus

Once upon a time, before Dominus, before even the Vaal, giant creatures roamed the lands of Wraeclast and none were greater than the dragons and the colossi.

Little is remembered of that time except in a small town called Colchester. Here the past is not just remembered but revered. However division runs through the town, half of the townsmen worship the remains of the last great dragon while the rest worship the head of a colossus.

The Dragon Cult believes they can bring back their god though gold and blood and the worshippers spend their time gathering great treasures and blood sacrifices for the dragon. They believe the dragon to be the stronger god because he obviously killed the colossus and bit of its hand, which is why the colossus sword is a part of the cults temple.

The Cult of the Dragon:

The Church of the Colossus is more peaceful and believes in promoting life and happiness. The believers give gifts of food and drink and pray for long life and health They know their god is the strongest and believe he saved their ancestors by killing the evil dragon. That is why the sword of the Colossus lies next to the decapitated head of the dragon. The use the power of the mapdevice to travel many worlds searching for a colossus that might still be alive.

The Chuch of the Colossus:

The town is prosperous because of the many pilgrims travelling to the their place of worship. The docks brings in food for the populus and Vagan runs the local forge bringing trade to the city. Vorici makes his money hunting and capturing sacrifices for The Dragon Cult.

Concept:

I came up with the idea for a dragon some time ago when I was building "King Arthur and the Exiles of the round table" but it didn't fit into the hideout. So when I deleted my old hideout (cry) I knew I wanted to make a hideout centered around a dragon. The idea of two competing cults came during the recent 1m league and I started mapping out the idea in the temporary league. The three distrinct areas of Catarinas hideout seemed perfect although the dark lighting of the area proved challenging. It was hard keeping the hideout light enough without the shadows fucking up but in the end I think the result was worth it.

This is absolutely amazing, a work of art in its own right. It's a perfect example of why GGG made the right decision to include custom hideouts. Nothing is a better mark of success than when someone is inspired, and I certainly am. :)

Joke aside, very well done, please do not delete it. It's a shame to destroy a jewel. I know you want to recreate another hideout and you are unstoppable! But..... Damn, i will be forever jealous of your mausoleum WP and map device, so dont destroy theeeeeeem Q_Q

I made some changes in the last days (I just can't stop!)

I bought the "Cauldron" mtx because I fell in love with the lighting effect and rebuild some of my dragon room:
