Content Update 2.1.0 Patch Notes

Most of the changes look nice, however...

Tornado shot - surprised about buff, it didn't need more damage, but maybe less.
Cyclone - nerf feels a bit small, maybe stun immunity could be taken away, that way coc has to deal with the stun problem (nerfing it's high damage), while regular cyclone could deal with it easier.
Shockwave totem - Don't think it needed a buff.
SRS - rework well done, hopefully its endgame damage won't be so high as it was before.

Leech - Problem with leech still not solved sadly. (thinking about right side of the tree)
Elemental can leech now as well, which sounds nice i guess. (New leech nodes provide good option for chaos Voltaxic builds, which make Hungry Abyss jewel a bit pointless. I assume it was underused already?)

Blood Dance - Nerf can be understandable, it trivialized to sustain blood rage and regen without investing into the tree in certain cases. On the other hand that was the point of Blood Dance, now it feels like it's lacking something :/ (already gave up high eva, life, res)

About the tree...
Shadow tree area seems done badly. Ranger feels a tiny bit too simple to me.

Would be good to see more number details in patch notes!

The penalties to the life and energy shield of Summoned Spectres have been halved at all levels.

How does this work are lvl 20 where they have 0% less life/energy shield, not to mention at level 21 they receive 1% more?

economy? what economy. I'm not interested in this stone-age trading system and neither are 50% of the playerbase which aren't no-life masochists.

there is no spoon, and no economy in this game either.

I agree. An auction-house like thing would be nice.. Especially for the casual players - but well, casual players are no business, right?

easier access to items + more hoarding due to sellability of rares/uniques/etc (auction house doesn't mean the items necessarily have to be physically gone from your stash, eh? ;-)) + collecting stuff like cards -> yes, even casual players will buy those stash tabs as soon as they enter the market, that's a guaranteed thing.
since I have no hope for significant game design improvements in this game I am officially done with Path of Exile. done for good
RIP my level 89 Incinerate Fire Witch... :-(
Everything had it's radius increased, except sweep, which was nerfed.
I hadn't noticed that it was massive before, and didn't see too many players streaming a sweep build. Now with the reduction in the passive tree area nodes, this considerably smaller sweep may be practcally unplayed. Did I miss something to make sweep more effective compared to the other AoE options?

Love the bug fixes, especially the NPC speech options which are outdated, Did Hagan stop saying "i said we were missing TWO lovers, one's not much use to anyone" since he almost never speaks to the exile before they have rescued Clarissa now.

EDIT: typo

  • A short instance-wide cooldown has been added to many monster skills. Monsters with "bursty" skills have had this cooldown applied to reduce player deaths from fast, hard-to-predict damage. This includes skills such as Leap Slam, Flicker Strike, Shield Charge, Lightning Warp and Arctic Breath. Most of the affected skills are appropriate as initiation skills, but are not ideal when many monsters perform them simultaneously.
  • Goddammit :( How does this affect monsters using these skills when they are raised as spectres?

    • Monsters that use the Summon Raging Spirit skill now have their own dedicated version so that it can be balanced separately. There have been various rebalances, but in general it has been made stronger at high levels.

I second this, Spectre options are a much needed build variety enabler.
