Just tanked a level 73 Olmec's Sanctum map from Zana at level 70, to get a level from the final boss with no deaths. Semi-decent gear listed below, and I still have the cloth and chain nodes while using Might and Influence. Char IGN: WikingerZorn


Quick question, have you ever considered replacing increased duration or vulnerability in the CWDT setup for a low level blood rage and get some frenzy charges? Should be an extra 12% more damage and 12% increased attack speed for a bit of life degen that should be easy enough to counteract with leech.

t15 maps its easy but anyway damage with RT low for comfortable shaper or corrupted t16..man you play at std and must try crit with good rapiers its right way for dual strike with new imba jewel and with marylane u dont need to gear abyssus

Yes I have. It yielded awful survivability. It affects leech too much to survive in high tier maps. Seems like it's very little degen but it's suicide as my build is 100% leech dependent.

I have tried crit lol. My build needs 100% predictable DPS and leech results to be able to control all situations in tough battles.

I am now hitting 400k DPS so it doesn't matter. The new Jewel Might and Influence is just awesome.

Also, you and everyone should know... swords are for girls! AXES DUDE! You ain't lived yet til you double axe a monstah in the face!

I tried swords. Quit it real fast. Axes are just easier to get higher damage AND high speed. Swords really offer little benefit.

I switched from full sword build to full axes and went down in dps and only gained 200 life. With axes you can't use whirling blades which is just not acceptable for 200 life. I will keep my swordses.

Also, what I really want to know is your thoughts on Cleave with the new cleave gem vs Dual Strike with DS gem? I was leaning towards Cleave, but I haven't tried DS without having to use splash. The Demon Hand Cleave effect is so fucking cool. wtb mtx for DS

then u bad try swords..compare my clear speed minotaur +35%hp vs ur white i think and in addition i have one trash non crit axe with low dps + 450pdps other and its faster then ur RT mirror axe+legacy soultaker
with double mirror swords u will kill same minotaur at 5-10 secs//yea u lose survivality but its mean nothing it this game if u play hp build..i killed shaper many time without died when i play crit bf sword bers+abyssus with 5.7к
double strike calculate as crit build look at enchat and use it with RT like hammer nails use mobile phone xDD

its same buffs with this jewels u dont need use incr aoe for cleave and dont need melee splash for dual strike but DS win here coz u can invest 5 gems to damage and care about AOE..chance to double strike main hand its one more reason use crit swords with it

You're missing the point of my build though, to stand still, get attacked, laugh it off and win anyway. I hear this all the time and it gets old after three years: HP/ES-focused builds do less damage. Duh! It is the tradeoff people like me want to go for. 12 years of diablo 2 plus 3 years of this, excluding Baldur's Gate, Champions of Norrath etc and eventually people like me come back to the same conclusion- Nothing beats pure tank.

I'm hitting 400k now so I see no problems with shooting for 9000-9500 life to achieve that defense I want. My build didn't become popular because it does a lot of damage, it became popular because he is nearly invincible using minimum tricks. After 3 years I watched a hundred skills get nerfed or changed hard enough by GGG to know that nothing lasts in this game except my build because the dude is so simple. High life, leech, attack. Not a lot to nerf there. You want to go cookie-cutter then that's all good.

Cleave has its pros and cons. It's just really lame mostly. Soup tested it and said it was ok, better in some ways and worse in others but that ultimately it was boring and uninspiring, abandoning testing.

As for swords, do whatever you want lol. No one reallllllllly listens anyway. 1400 hours with one character just isn't enough to be heard lol. I can admit that my swords may not have been as epic as yours but in my gut I know axes offer the highest survivability which is the true center of my build. DPS is just this newly added bonus that GGG shot over as a thanks for my efforts.


I have incorporated Might and Influence into my setup so you should all try that soon with Belly+Rare helm to gain an extra gem slot. You can still use Bringer of Rain, but I think Belly is going to be a keeper. Losing 26% block from BoR isn't awesome but I have not died at all yet in 35 hours of testing t15 and t16 corrupt maps. It's nice to see bosses melt in 2-5 seconds lol. True test will be Uber Atziri and Shaper.
