how does call of the brotherhood help? :P sacrificing 2 jewelry pieces + penetration gem swap so you can get countered again by a simple tally swap?

" Imo melees biggest problem is frost wall, which is a generic problem. Although I can see where people come from when they complain about high regen tanks and aegis builds but they can kill you either so it's not a real problem It's hard to remember what you have forgotten

" Talismans reduce the damage of frost wall abusers to an almost acceptable level. You are very close to immortal if you use talismans, have 10k life and use strong life potions (description of RT melee). There are very few things that can kill you in that state.. EA and physical damage perhaps being the only real threats. | |
But then again these talismans need to make it to the main game... we'll see how it goes.

" You are right, but the point is that it might need some sort of balance for HLD, considering the amount of elemental skills that are affected by it. Looks like a good solution vs EA, but my point is it puts away already weak builds and does nothing in other to help them be more competitive and have more diversity. I would love to use skills like freezepulse, fireball, magma orb etc... I'm not sure what their main idea was for pve about these but i wouldnt be surprised that barely looked at how it would affect PVP. It needs balance, and imo this is not a good way to deal with EA, ea needs a seperate counter especially for it or a nerf to the algorithm, theres betters ways without touching anything else. The real point is the talismans are already in the game and the balancing has been done. We just have to adjust accordingly once again.

It's the wrong way to balance a game, by forcing people to play pseudo mind games with damage conversions. Plus forcing more then necessary item swaps, especially to low level shit tier uniques in most cases is equally crap for HLD. Lastly on the subject of actual mind games versus poorly implemented ones. Molten shell, the way they balanced Molten shell by providing elemental conversions for physical melee was well implemented. People still bitch Molten is broken but that's just because they are lazy. Something like guessing the amulet conversion type, running no penetration gems, dual penetrations gems + a plethora of gem swaps/conversions is moronic. Want to balance EA? Make it something other then "babies first PvP skill". Right now it's spray and pray, evidenced by this video and anyone else using it now a days. Make it a potent single target/aim required stack-able skill while still retaining its wall exploding unique qualities at a very very neutered damage ratio. That is how you balance a game.
