These things are silly. I'll play them for a few months, but looks like the end of my enjoying PoE.

Like clockwork, this kind of thread AGAIN.
All the sub-classes are strong in their own way and have something high-powered and unique that other sub-classes CANNOT get. Seriously, why do you guys have to complain about every Ascendancy class? I know I bitch sometimes about certain things, but I really feel sorry for GGG trying to introduce cool things to this game for you ingrates. |

" I think the fear is that a generically strong boost makes interesting, strong niche boosts obsolete. Why would I make a saboteur trapper when I could make a pathfinder trapper? It has nothing to do with traps, but hey, flasks are OP as fuck. Or assassin trapper, because crit. Or necromancer trapper, because self-bone-offering is a free fucking aegis. Anyway, the interesting stuff isn't what they've released now, it's what they actually release in March. I'll save my real feedback until then -- GGG have a habit of changing shit right up until the day of release (for better or for worse). |

" Well Pathfinder is very niche - I don't think a trapper will be critting enough to use Master Surgeon well. So that one is out. And then why would the trapper spend 4 points to get ele status ailment removal? That's a lot of points and there is a limit of 6. Yes if you want to go crit trapper - Assassin can work. But Saboteur also has it's own unique powerful benefits like extra traps and Chain Destruction. Unless you are building specifically for flasks (i.e. flask nodes on tree) and using very high-end flasks - the opportunity cost of this sub-class is just too high compared to using another sub-class. Let's be real guys - most people on this thread just saw "Master Surgeon" and started screaming OP. That is four points and unless you are high crit and running around with high-end flasks like Taste of Hate, VofV, Rumi's and specifically BUILT to be using these kind of flasks then the cost of Pathfinder is too much vs. another sub-class. But I agree, anythign can change until release. |

" Except for Berserker (and to a lesser extent Juggernaut). How can those exist with Pathfinder, Assassin etc is beyond me. Last edited by Fauxite#1694 on Feb 1, 2016, 12:52:04 PM

"The only thing which confuses me is why you aren't. When Stephen Colbert was killed by HYDRA's Project Insight in 2014, the comedy world lost a hero. Since his life model decoy isn't up to the task, please do not mistake my performance as political discussion. I'm just doing what Steve would have wanted.

" Because its not. What is a 20% surgeon unique flask going to help with. General clear: flask uptime can be achieved with the retch or even the magnate and you should not need 100% unique flask time for general clears anyways. Bosses that take more than 10 seconds and have no adds: Should not be too many that fit this criteria that could not be cheesed with deadhands and portal-ing. Simply put, with the amount of cheese belts in the game and the pace of the "meta-tard", its not as meaningful to have nerfed surgeons. With that said, it's possible GGG removes all flask nodes from the tree in addition to all crit nodes and nerfs the heck out of flask belts making flaskfinder far more useful than its current state. Btw if you've watched the recent Mathil video...
I agree with him that making specific plans for builds is a little preemptive at this point. But that doesn't mean I think feedback is not worthwhile at this point. Basically, from GGG's perspective there are two ways to react to us pointing out things which seem utterly OP with the information given us: 1. The "I know something you don't know" situation. In which case it is just us having incomplete information which causes us to see problems which aren't there. 2. The "hmm, I didn't think of that" situation. In which the devs actually don't have something planned, and some form of further adjustment would be desired. I, for one, don't mind doing #1 a bunch of times, if it means achieving #2 even once. When Stephen Colbert was killed by HYDRA's Project Insight in 2014, the comedy world lost a hero. Since his life model decoy isn't up to the task, please do not mistake my performance as political discussion. I'm just doing what Steve would have wanted.
