Path of Exile 2.2.0: Ascendancy Patch Notes
" I think you are right, I was confused. So they are effectively nerfing everything except some uniques that are mentioned and the rare jewels? Still though i don't see why you need to spend divines to fix existing jewels, considering that the new ones will be better without a divine. From ther other hand the new ones will effectively be better than before if it is like this so they will be more expensive so spending a divine might be to make it more fair because you bought it cheaper. But this is the case for everything in poe, items lose or gain value, I don't see why jewels and some uniques should be treated special in that regard. " "A video game career? Oh such a big lost to this community when you leave, please come back...." I mean just go and continue your career somewhere else, some MMO that do not need to pay or grind to get the top gear, always keep the same meta from v1.0.0 until it shut down. It is as though a thousand mouths cry out in pain!!!

I tried to read as many important posts as possible, but I have a limited amount of time and I chose to TLDR:
So, Are the change to Bino's life regen a nerf or not. Because before it wasn't all that clear that actually how much life it regenerated (I only acquired it recently also, so I haven't used it that much). Are they planning to make old Bino's legacy? I also recently bought The consuming Dark (fairly cheap). Is it going to be legacy or not? I'm not all that happy with poison and crit changes. How will my Shadow survive on end game maps now? How I'm supposed to regain it's effectiveness If by chance I could not complete all Ascendancy Labyrinth challenges? Thank God I only play softcore. I can't imagine how angry and frustrated hardcore players are. Not every player has divines. I only found 4 so far and I sold them because I thought that I'll never have to use them anyway. Now this. I also sold my only ToH. If it's going to be legacy and going to worth much more then I also lost out on at least 7-10 exalts, which is a shitton for a casual player like me. I wonder if the guy who bought it knew that they going to nerf it. Anyway he probably was a flipper and sold it already. They F*-ed mirrored item owners in the ass. How could they recraft their gear when mirrored items are not craftable any more? Also thank God I do not own any mirrored BiS items. My only hope is that my 2 most beloved characters, My lvl 90 EK Scion and my lvl 83 ED Witch will still remain viable. |

I’m looking forward to Ascendancy and think the Subclasses are a great addition to the game. Thank you very much GGG. Unfortunately, this is also where my excitement ends however.
[1] I can’t understand why GGG has to gate content behind RNG (maps), Zana or temporary leagues (bosses, league-specific uniques,…) and I despise this. By the time most of the player base has grinded enough to finally access this great content or has the required gear to play the build they like to play the league normally ends. I understand that we need temporary leagues for all the players that seek competition, I’m fine with that. For the rest of us, please let us enjoy all this great stuff in the permanent standard/hardcore leagues. [2] I can’t understand GGG’s balancing and item creation policies. Why introduce and hype some really powerful item in league X (e.g. Vinktar’s) to nerve it to the ground in league X+1. A lot of uniques in PoE are either very strong or not worth picking up at all. Normally the former especially T1s get nerved based on popularity to the point where they become either niche and the majority moves on or until they are not T1 worthy anymore. The later receive no love at all. Seriously for the big majority of the player base it’s near impossible to acquire one of the powerful ones in a 3-month league. If one is lucky enough and gets one, for god’s sake let them have fun and let them feel powerful! There is no need to nerve things. This is also true for Standard, instead of nerving items you could simply introduce harder content and let people have fun & challenges at the same time. I have been playing Magic the Gathering for nearly 20years now and this game obviously has more combinations than PoE ever will yet nerves/bans are very rare there even for type 1 players yet the game has near perfect balancing. I would love to see set items. I would love to see more uniques that scale with player-level. [3] I really love new content but instead of more and more new gems that feel and play the same as existing ones I would rather see new mechanics. I would rather see broken things fixed and bad mechanics improved, e.g. how about improving targeting of single-target skills? [4] One-shots! I despise these. These days one-shots are everywhere in PoE, players one-shooting 90% of the content or dying to one-shots 9 out of 10 times. Please GGG there must be better ways to create challenging content. [5] Please improve your Netcode! Desync is still a reality even with lock-step mode. You can easily see this while using movement skills or using single-target melee attacks in conjunction with Resolute Technique. Opening strongboxes often leads to huge increases in RTT leading to unnecessary deaths. [6] Ground effects and pebbles! If one can’t see Malachai’s traps due to too many ground-effects (shattered ice, corpses,) something is wrong. When skills like Lightning-Strike don’t hit because of pebbles something is wrong. When players die after opening a strongbox due to a Blink Arrow click on an invisible pebble (under a corpse, shattered ice, outside of your light-radius) something is wrong. [7] Please don’t forget/ignore players playing in permanent leagues. Starting from scratch every 3 months is not everyone’s cup of tea nor is competitive gameplay. Some of us prefer trying new builds, playing self-found, perfecting toons,… You can find reasons for that all over my post. I would love to see all the monsters, shrines, mods ever created and all the content popping up randomly during normal gameplay or within maps in permanent leagues. Despite all of my critics PoE is a great game. Thank you for that and keep up the good work. |

" GGG must really hate this skill. I actually laughed when I read this, because they normally don't write this in the patch notes. But I'm happy they nerfed vaal spark. First person to reach lvl100 in the leagues won't be vaal spark this time :) Are you not entertained?

Ok, I feel obligated to explain detail by detail. Seems like everyone that are defending the change of wording of critical multiplier are the very ones that just dont understand how it works.
Everyone that play this game for a year or more already knows that nerf will always exist. The nerf on crit multiplier I CAN get it, the thing that everyone CANT get is the WAY, terrible and poor way to do so. - They arent honest to say, I want to nerf it. They use a excuse that its a change of wording that are more clear. - There are plenty of better ways to do the nerf. If you want to nerf the crit multiplier, fine, nerf it. But do it without so much collateral and unnecessary damage to players. If crit multiplier is not intuitive, neither is you lose -60% all resists on merciless. You read some note they saying that they are buffing resists on items because of it and that you need to divine ur items to get the new roll? I dont. The very first thing you expect from anyone is at least some bit of consistency. Which GGG as whole, unfortunately, dont have. Here are few ways to do it far better: 1) Change existing items. The change are proportional, not randomly, its possible!!! Possible cons: GGG dont have knowloadge to do it or they didnt coded properly to make it viable. Like the routine to update values would take too long because of bad architecture. If thats the case, you arent happy with it, neither are we. So lets find another solution, shall we? 2) HARD CODE to detect if a divine are used in an item that contains LEGACY wording/mod (+x% increased global vs. +x% to critical multiplier) the following rule applies: - Check if the items contains the legacy wording/mode - If yes even mirroed or corrupted item will apply this: only the legacy wording/mod value will be replaced by the PROPORTIONAL correspondent new value. - Your divine will not be consumed. After that you item dont contains any legacy wording/mod anymore, any further divine will function as expected. Possible cons: None. Maybe you code arent pretty anymore, but if they cant execute the first suggestion it already isnt good anyways. 3) Just apply a flat reduction effectiveness on critical multiplier (penalty) on cruel / merciless You already does that with all resist dont you? Possible cons: Its not very intuitive. But at least works. 4) If the problem is only the wording, make a tutorial and explain the math. If the player dont understand the tutorial its not your fault anymore. I can go on but I think 4 solutions are enough already. |
