Hi Mark,

I haven't been able to find out how exactly some traps (Blade Sentries, Sawblades, Spinning Blades) deal damage. Specifically, I want to find out whether they deal damage over time or use a rapid sequence of hits. This is important for planning a labyrinth-farming character; I need to know whether to go for high armour (which only works if traps hit), or if I'd be better off with a Leo-modded shield (reduced damage taken from damage over time).
Hello, dear GGG!!

On POE Wiki http://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Raise_Zombie written:

"Raised Zombie
Mods:

40% increased Armour
Monster has 33% more Attack Speed, 33% more Cast Speed and 33% less Damage (Hidden)
30% increased Stun Threshold (Hidden)
Resistances:

Normal: 35 / 35 / 35 / 0
Cruel: 35 / 35 / 35 / 0
Merciless: 35 / 35 / 35 / 0

Level---Life----Attack Speed----Damage

2-------43----------0.85---------9–22
3-------51----------0.85---------9–22
......
90-----11809-------0.85---------1644–4110
"
QUESTION:

1644-4110 damage - its damage WITH mod "33% less Damage" or NOT???

0.85 Attack per second - its APS WITH mod "33% more Attack Speed" or NOT???

I look forward to answer!! Thx!!!
I'm not sure how exactly the damage calculation with doomfletch prism (or for that matter doomfletch).

Is my train of thought correct?

I have some physical damage on the bow, and then:
1) I add flat physical damage from items
2) I multiply the sum from 1) by %increased physical damage
3) I get elemental damage equal to 110% of result from 2)
4) The elemental damage from 3) is then multiplied by the sum of %increased ele dmg, %increased matching element damage (fire for instance), %increased weapon elemental damage and %increased projectile damage, the physical damage from 2) is multiplied by %projectile damage

And the final damage is the sum of above physical and elemental damage, right?
How minion damage calculation i know! More info here:
http://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Raise_Zombie
and
http://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Stat

For final count damage I need to know (see my previous post):

1644-4110 damage - its damage WITH mod "33% less Damage" or NOT???

0.85 Attack per second - its APS WITH mod "33% more Attack Speed" or NOT???

Based on community testing, us players are very sure that blade sentries and the tower thing with spikes deal non-bleeding phys DoT. The poison needle and ground spikes do have a phys Hit component, but also have poison and bleeding respectively, with roughly half of the spike's per-use damage dealt in the bleed. I believe the chopping falling blades have same setup as ground spikes.

Community testing has, imo, been conclusive enough for you to start planning your lab build now. But of course it would be nice to have official Mark_GGG confirmation.

No, that is not how it works, but good effort.

It looks a little something more like this:
1)add flat phys
2)add elemental damage from doom fletch (prism), in amount of 110% random for non prism and 110% of each element for prism
2a) important! Keep each result from 2) in a separate account based on what damage types it has ever been (you will have to calculate differently in 3) based on what damage was phys-only, phys-fire, phys-ice, and phys-lightning)
3) each damage account is multiplied by the sum of ALL % increased damage modifiers - for a given account, there is no difference between increased physical, increased weapon elemental, increased Projectile, etc, the difference is only in which increased bonuses are allowed to apply
4) sum all damage accounts for total damage and apply other modifiers as necessary (penetration, etc)

Note that if you have other conversion and added as stats that they must be cleared in 2) and 2a) before step 3) can start

Simplified example:
100 base physical damage from bow and other gear
Prism
100% increased phys
100% increased Projectile
50% increased lightning

You will deal
300 phys damage
330 fire
330 cold
385 lightning

Thanks for the reply, quick follow-up question:

Iron grip says that the strength bonus to physical damage applies to projectiles. Does that mean that it grants projectile damage, or physical projectile damage?
Honestly, that one I'm not as familiar with, but the wiki page on Iron Grip Support says it is only physical projectile attack damage.
