CTF Tournament 3v3 - Let's talk about restrictions

These were my notes I had I never posted but I am open to a discussion

MELEE ONLY

The majority of your damage must come from a direct melee attack (not HoT etc...)

No traps/mines

No item equipped in a weapon slot that isn't a melee weapon or shield (no ea/ca/vortex etc)

No unique flasks

No inquisitor/pathfinder

No queen of the forest

No Cast on/when gems (cwdt/coc/cod/etc). Curse on hit is allowed.

No animate guardian

Imo,

No everything, only naked fist punching only.
that includes no passive points AND Bandits!

Make PoE PVP great again.

WHATEVER YOU FIND ON THE GROUND AT TWILIGHT STRAND GO!

But how do you ban an enchantment? Like I said, if I'd had my Decree of Winter still, I'd be fucked since I need my gloves to use any of my shit, and I really wouldn't want to have to farm for it again... which I do.

I have naver done a proper melee build but I'm with ahfack's melee only idea, because that's much more managable than handpicking stuff that comes in our mind, and banning them.

Banning enchantments / cwdt or stuff that people might try to use secretly should be enforced by recording the tournament at multiple players and banning the cheaters spotted on camera.

I think you have the only character that would be even remotely viable with these restrictions, grats! :<

On a more serious note, why would you ban animate guardian, qotforest, unique flasks and cwdt icall in a melee only CTF tournament? I'd say all of them are perfectly fine in a CTF environment

Markusz, I agree. And I would record and also rely on a few friends like you to do the same and kinda ref while it is going on.

I am not sure if I can handle all the heavy lifting for a tournament and I will definitely need your guys' help, and I do value all the input, we are having good discussions, lets keep them going! With GGG not doing anything about PVP it's on us, and it will take all of us together to establish rules that can make it fun for the most people possible! :) <3

Unique flasks because everyone knows it's Path of Vinktar up in here, and I felt like if I said "No Vinktar" People would be like WELL WHAT ABOUT ___X___ so I just wrote down no unique flasks, fuck them all lol. I'm with Rup where I want people to fight! :) And I'm not trying to set rules that only benefit me. Also I am not saying these are the be-all-end-all of rules, but what was in my head as I take a shower or rock my kid down at night, just while I'm thinking, ya know?

Animate Guardian because people can cheez free frenzies (infinite flicker) and can 1shot melee phys by standing there and not attacking. Again, the majority of your damage must come from a direct melee attack and not a bramblejack guardian that would be cheezy in a melee only tournament. IMO moving fwd there should not be any AG's allowed anywhere but Sarn because if you are relying on that, you're build isn't legit. Yes, I have used an AG to cheez people in the past and I still got it geared, but I know how stupid it is and that it shouldn't be used so I don't. :)

I use CWDT and tons of offhands so I'm limiting myself too. I just hate CWDT in PVP. Everytime I think of a tournament or something I think of that joker sonne hagel and I don't want any trolls like that or anyone doing a lot by not even trying. Basically I would type in "NO TROLL BUILDS" but I'm sure that wouldn't clarify enough :). With Juggernauts having 15 end charges and perma-cwdt-imm call it's super cheez, so this is my middle ground. If someone wanted to self-cast Imm call to sustain them, then that's fine, but you gotta do some sort of action besides standing there being invincible.

No Queen of the Forest because your movement speed can be that of pathfinder-status and more. If someone had a character with a full respec and just wanted to see how fast they could go, then only another queen of the forest could catch them. I think if we don't want pathfinder because only other pathfinders can catch them, then the same goes for Queen of the forest.

I actually almost mentioned no legacy/mirrored items also to make it more of a level playing field but then I realized I don't even have a regular kaoms (had 2, bricked them to rares lol) and I'm sure someone else would run into this problem too. And if I said no mirrored items that would benefit me and Godkas too much since we have originals they aren't mirrored, and mine was even made in a league so I don't know something more legit than that. Basically people can complain about anything and I'm trying my best to find the middle ground and nip things in the bud that are easily abused.

unique only itmes restriction will solve mirrored/mirror worth gear problem.
we did that way in LLD tournaments (nr 2, 4,5 and 6), it was challenging and fun :)
