The study, by scientists from Florida Gulf Coast University, found people with a high IQ rarely get bored, leading them to spend more time lost in thought. It suggested less intelligent people are more prone to boredom, leading them to do more physical activity as a result. That interpretation is so dumb it hurts. But one would need to read the actual study to judge, media is quite bad at summarizing scientific stuff. ll of the participants in the study were then fitted with fitness trackers, which monitored how much they exercised over seven days. The study found that people who think a lot were far less active between Monday to Friday than those who tended to avoid high-level thinking. Like wtf. Another possible explanation: Intelligent people are more likely to be rich and thus more likely to drive to work by car. Poorer people at least need to walk to the bus stops/train stations. Or other reasons I'm too lazy to brainstorm (does that mean I'm intelligent? lol). | |

"Still haven't read it, but makes perfect logical sense to me. As intelligence increases, accomplishment per unit effort increases. Therefore, either accomplishment per unit time increases proportionally, or effort per unit time decreases proportionally, or some mix of the two. When Stephen Colbert was killed by HYDRA's Project Insight in 2014, the comedy world lost a hero. " Being more effective does not mean someone will be lazier. It's possible but there's no logical correlation. You could just as easily say 'someone is more intelligent > they see a greater effect from their efforts > they enjoy the process more and apply even more effort than someone who tries, fails and quits in disappointment'. Which is, by the way, a commonly occurring theme in games. The Wheel of Nerfs turns, and builds come and pass, leaving memories that become legend.
