Hacked Accounts

I've only played for a couple days now, and every single time I try to login, I have to check the unlock code. It says my accounts has been logged in 200 km radius inside my country. Even my second login had to be unlocked. Nothing has been stolen.
It's getting ridiculous... |

More info. This is my third time getting hacked during 3 hour playing session. I have to unlock my account all the time plus I just got thrown out of the game and password changed.
I've NEVER EVER had ANY such problems during many many years of online games. Any tips on how can I continue to play this game? No matter how good and hard to guess password I put, it will get stolen in a day or two.. |

Wonko, the problem isn't just some ''british adsl'' messing up, I've got my password changed a couple times.

It appears most people are getting hacked due to their email being compromised. You need to change the password on you email. The hackers are not guessing your poe password, they are getting into your email and resetting your poe password.

" you should hurry up and create a new email on gmail and use two step authentication then switch your account to that email. Looks like your email is compromised, hopefully u are not keylogged. |

I think the hackers are much closer than you think. Maybe they work in "POE creator team". Sure they are hiding hackers. Sorry about it, but i feel this is true.

Why do people keep insisting that somehow, somewhere, the victim's e-mail account/computer has been compromised?
Sure, it's always a possibility, but the sheer number of individual reports of accounts being hacked- a good percentage of those coming from people who are believably competent in terms of computer security mind you- suggest otherwise. This whole "sorry bud your fault" mentality needs to fucking die. Your absolute faith in a system that is no more hack-proof than any other well-maintained (let's hope) system out there is astoundingly stupid. There are so many plausible ways in which the game servers could have been compromised, and new exploits for practically any sort of software are found every fucking day. God fucking damn it. |

I agree with you. However, from what we know one way or another the bad guys are are using email addresses to change poe passwords to gain access to accounts.

Hi.
First id like to say that i was hacked today in the morning. I started talking to people on general chat after the incident and it appears that I have probably entered my email/pass on some unsecure website/forums and was stupid enough to use the same password on here AND on my email address that way anyone who had access to that website (either admins or whoever could find passwords there) managed to get my informations and I suppose they tryed it on a few games to see if they could hack me and they did. I just felt like posting it here so that if someone get fucked like I did well at least theyr gonna know what to do peace |
