Hacked Accounts

99.99% of these hacked accounts must be,

1) ***** Visited malicious sites that RMT site set trap all over the segregated target domains.

2) ***** Registering on fansite/forums that are legit but are hacked silently. These sites may have pathetic security for example emails and passwords are not hashed and these users use the same email and password for poe too.

3) ********** Using old game password and same email.

4) *** Phishing attacks.

5) ** Trojan.

6) * Sharing your account and pw with a 'friend'.

7) ******************* Playing PoE in a lanshop (least likely because majority played at home).

8) ****************************** Email does not have two factor authentication activated and got compromised.

9) ************************************** Using dictionary words or words relevant to user's actual identity and got brute forced.

10) 0.0000001% Your pet cat trolled you. And this is a lot higher chance that Grinding Gears is actually in fault.

11) List goes on and on.. this is the song that doesn't end... (:

P.S
Anything can be hacked on the internet, what makes you think it is always the provider's fault when the freaking list of vulnerabilities are longer than the list of records in the guinness world record?

Respect the Internet. It is like respecting the jungle if you are living in the wild. Be vigilant or get consumed.

Last but not least, still nevertheless I really felt sorry to you people because I was once a victim in WoW too. I know how you feel.

Lol.
I thought exactly like you before, before my account here was hacked.
But i´ve learned that i was wrong. And: I never told my thoughts in the forums of the games i´ve played before. Thats arrogant and pretentious.
With such a post you will just spread anger throug the forum because what you say is that all the people who wrote about there account-security are liars. Thats it.

Hopefully you won´t be hacked. But for some people it´s the best way to learn not to corner other people in this way to be impaired that way.

And even if that list was true and complete, the vast majority of accounts would've been safe from hacking if GGG had implemented a secondary authentication method for OB.

OB: BazzVone - 83 Dual Spork Totem Templar /w CI and minions
CB: BazzVfourteen - 80 Dual Spork Totem Templar /w CI
CB: BazzVtwo - 73 Dual Spork Totem/LS Templar
CB: BazzVseven - 76 Lightning Strike Mara
CB: BazzVfive - 78 Lightning Strike Mara
And today someone tried again to log in on my account - from 'olgiate olona, lombardia'. At least the location baed security system prevented him from doing anything. After that i changed my password. And right now i even changed my email. Let's see if this is a problem of mine, or something else.

So what happens when the company of the game "won't" help you to restore the stolen stuff? Will they be taken to your island-country jail?

Man, that was so dick'ish but I'm LMFAO right now..
just asking

If it is possible that we randomly log in others' account?

5 /10 minutes ago, my account had been logged in by someone from a weird location.

Then, my account was locked again. But, this time nothing lost of my stash.

And anyone could tell GGG :could they afford an option for players to choose that we fixed our location we played and no changed, if the login location changed, they can't really log in?(optional)

I always play at the same location, only ip is floating a bit; which depends on time when i log in that my ISP service gives me a floating IP.

I only want to keep the rest gears safe of my hacked account to give ppl as good-bye presents.
i have been hacked. my char is already at level 69 ci witch. now all my valuable items and gears are lost. can someone help me? is there any possible that devs can trace the hackers?

Hi DEVS, i'm sure you have a serious problem with players whose accounts were hacked. Actually I was hacked too. I just logged in today and poof...all my valuable items were gone..My level 69 witch grinding in merciless and about to finish act 3 is now super weak (sigh).

There's one security that might be able to completely stop the hacking. You may consider one of the two methods used by Facebook company when it comes to account security. I just copied and pasted it here so you will have a rough idea on how this works.

1. What are login approvals? How do I turn this setting on?
Login approvals are an extra security feature similar to login notifications, but with an extra security step. If you turn on login approvals, you'll be asked to enter a special login code each time you try to access your Facebook account from a new computer or mobile phone. After you log in, you'll have the option to give that device a name and save it to your account. You won't have to enter a code when you log into any of these recognized devices.
To turn on Login Approvals:

Go to your Security Settings page ( > Account Settings > Security)
Click on the Login Approvals section
Check the box and save your changes

If you use the Facebook app on your smartphone, you can get your login codes instantly instead of waiting for a text (SMS) message. Learn more.
Note:

You have to have a mobile phone number listed on your account to turn on login approvals. You can add one to your account when you turn on login approvals, or learn more.
If you haven't named this computer, you'll be asked to do so when you turn on login approvals. Don't click the Save this device option if you're using a computer that other people use (ex: a library computer).
After you turn on login approvals, we need to be able to remember your computer and browser info so we can recognize it next time you log in. Some browser features block this. If you've turned on private browsing or set up your browser to clear your history every time it closes, you might have to enter a code every time you log in. Learn more.

2. What are login notifications?
Login notifications are an extra security feature. When you turn on login notifications, we'll send you an alert each time someone logs into your acccount from a new place.
To turn on login notifications:

Go to your Security Settings
Click on the Login Notifications section
Check the box next to the type of alerts you'd like to receive and save your changes

Note: You need to add a mobile number to your account to receive text message alerts.
After you turn on login notifications:

We'll ask you to name your computer or mobile phone next time you log in. You can also save this device to your list of Recognized Devices. This way, you won't have to keep naming the computer or mobile phone you usually use to log into Facebook. Don't choose this option if you're using a public computer.
When you name a device, we'll send you a notification.
If you ever receive a login notification from an unfamiliar device or location, follow the instructions in the notification to reset your password and secure your account.

I hope this helps. It will be more safe if we could create this kind of login approval using mobile phones. The hacker CAN'T login since he doesn't have the mobile # where the login code will be sent to. Thank you and more power.

They can trace hackers, but they refuse to give u back the orbs. That is the policy.

Better not log in "here" with your main account and not click the link of some suspicious thread on the forum.

I wouldn't touch it with a barge pole.
