Just me being a knucklehead but how can people check if they are part of a botnet?

Here's an other knucklehead then:D, wondering how I can now beeing part of a botnet. Well fortunately the hack didnt succed in my case due to the location check.

weapons: Logitech G19 & Cyborg R.A.T 9
im getting the locking email everytime i want to play, because my ip is changing atleast every 24H, and is not bound to my city.
just check your ip adress and where it is from, and compare the result to the location that is noticed in the locking email. in my case it is the same every time.

You'll have a Trojan or something on your system.
I've been hack as well and all my gems and uniques are gone. I must admit i had a pretty low security password but that is the first time I've ever been hacked since I play online games (around 20 years).
Now my characters are unplayable so i'm gonna stop playing this game for now at least.

The simple solution is to :
- Erase all accounts when the beta ends. Customers will get their paid products back after the wipe.
- Request password resets for all accounts and ask for strong passwords now.

Add an option to prevent opening the accopunt from another location (usefull if the players uses a fixed IP)

Those who stole will loose everything they took.

Thanks! Thankfully i haven't been hacked or compromised. I just saw the amount of 270,000 in Chris's post and wondered about the amount of ip's involved.
Edit: Derp I can't read.

Hey, I was just about to start playing PoE, but this thread has gotten me a bit worried, when d'you think this problem can be sorted out?
i just got this in the mail

"Your Path of Exile account has been locked because someone logged in from a location that you don't typically play from - "Xingyi, Guizhou, China".

To play again, you'll need to type or paste the following access code into the game client after logging in:

***-***-***

If you didn't just log in from a new location, then someone else has your account password! You should change it immediately which can be done on our website.

If you have any problems with this process, please contact customer support by replying to this email."

i just wonder if it is legit

It's definitely legit.
I do recommend running a virus\rootkit scan etc. on your computer before activating the account again.

I suggest running multiple to be on the safe side (A virusscanner is no 100% guarantee you are safe)

Also change your password(Do not re-use a password you've used before!) once you have guaranteed your computer is clean. If your credentials were the same as an account you use somewhere else you want to change those too. Especially if it's the same as your E-mail account.
