How does Pain Attunement work with Chaos Innoculation?

Unfortunatly it doesn't.
So then in order to use Pain Attunement you would need to eschew Energy Shield entirely even though you're necessarily going to be getting tons of INT as a caster. That means dipping heavily into STR or DEX, and filling up on Armour or Evasion (or just ignore all those stats, get Eldritch Battery, and hope to heck you somehow manage to get enough +HP on your gear). THEN you would need to get just enough regen/flasks to stay at low health without recovering, but not too little that you die. Once you meet all those requirements, you get +25% damage.

Blood Rage can help to manage the incoming damage when enemies are unavailable or unreliable, but it still doesn't help with anything else.

Also of note is that unless you plan to focus your build around Tempest Shield, this passive is useless with a shield since you could've gotten a comparable damage increase just by skipping the passive and swapping out your shield for another weapon.

If someone figures out a way to take advantage of that without a tremendous hassle, my hat's off to them, but as it is, this passive seems like it has way too many prerequisites to bother with.

Actually, I think it's the exact opposite. With a big energy shield you can safely get your health down low enough and leave it there. If you're careful, you could keep the bonus from Pain Attunement continuously.

Hmm, interesting. I suppose the challenge then is to find gear that doesn't have any HP regen.

I'll have to try that. I hope the low health visual effects aren't too bothersome.

HOLY CRAP that sucks were pain atunement is were its at. all the spell booster passive skills are really on the other side closer to the templar. this really makes me think of what to do.

Revamped the Crossroads and Old Fields.

I've had a look at both of them. They look much more interesting and vivid now.
Old Fields shows a good transition from The Forest's jungle to Crossroads' plains with all the added plant life. Also it is somewhat smaller now.
Crossroads connects four distinguishably different areas, its new structure supporting orientation. The 'rivulet' looks all lovely ;).

Thanks a lot!

Wands are ranged weapons, so yes it should.

Look again. There's plenty of spell bonuses on the DEX/INT class's area.
Well, even if you take the Doom Cast and Spell Power talents you have to spend 5 Points for Pain Attunement, which reduces the damage gain to 5% + 6int per talent point. Since all the other useful perks around PA are not really for a witch it is imo not worth going that route.
