may not be the most practical weapon, but they are sexy as fuck, and if you don't know shit about armed combat, you may at least try to look good doing so ... or sth

Nice one.

I haven't trained with knives, but I like karambits. Nasty, vicious little fuckers, and I like the fighting style with them. A nice, straightforward thrust with a knife like what you posted should be more practical, of course.

I used to go around with a knife in the final years of high school, but then I realized it's a killing weapon, not a self-defense weapon, and I would be unwilling to actually use it in most situations. Switched to a pair of telescopic metal nunchucks I was practicing with, and I'm damn happy I did as I was more than wiling to use them on two occasions and this had a wonderful cooling effect on the other guys, so it all ended peacefully.

Ah, the wonders of growing up in a post-socialist Eastern European country. If you can believe it, I was in an elite high school, not some kind of ghetto shit. Problem was, the whole country was a ghetto at that time (and still is, to some extent).
You have to be realistic about these things.

Ew. Magnum is Boker's garbage mall ninja garbage line of knives xD

If we're talking about knives now, then Emerson is the only thing I will ever carry. Well, Emerson and Strider. The Strider DB-L is the best camp knife I've ever used, and of course would be a great defensive tool as well. Emerson, with their connection to the US Navy and innovative things like the "wave" are enough cred for me. I carry an Emerson M-Com every day, and it is amazingly useful, and I have never had any prblems with it.

A Swiss army knife or a random utility knife will do all the everyday stuff you need doing, and as far as stabbing people goes, even a screwdriver will suffice.

When I went camping, I used this ancient handmade knife with a horn handle my grandfather gave me, and a small hatchet. You don't need an overpriced gimmick made from super-grade steel to chop wood either.
You have to be realistic about these things.

I have broken more than my share of blades off of Leatherman or Victorinox multi-tool/swiss army knives at work over the years. I would rather have something I don't have to worry about snapping in half. Obviously for most people who are gonna use a pocket knife to cut an apple or open a letter, then yes, you're right, all you need is a Victorinox tiny mini little swiss army knife.

Also, anyone that uses a knife as a weapon and doesn't have actual training is just asking for trouble. Using a knife as a weapon without actually having legitimate knowledge is a good way to get yourself injured BADLY.

OH and you mentioned Karambits earlier. I have a really nice folding Emerson K-bit (more as a collection piece than as anything I would ever take out of my house), and yeah... they are the most horrifying fuckers ever. I have seen video of a fight that ended with a karambit being used... and the resulting injuries were the most gruesome thing I have ever seen. Knives like that turn people into... shredded meat. Think BBQ pulled pork, but made of human skin and fat and blood and viscera and shit, and everything else. Big time barf.

C'mon what? There are zillions of stories about idiots who thought they would try to use a knife as a weapon and ended up getting cut to ribbons themselves...

Lemme give you a practical advice - if you are facing a knife, no matter the age and the power of the holder, nor the size of the blade, either step back or just run. Never ever try to take it off. If you carry one, never ever get into a knife fight, unless your life is in danger.

Knifes don't require any strength, nor special skills, can be used with ease by any gender of any age and size. In a fight you won't even feel the cuts/stabs until it's too late, and 1-2 of it is easily game over, especially if no hospital or other people around.

Virtual reality is a bad advisor. Leave the virtual stories to the virtual people.

That was kind of my point. Maybe I didn't express it well, but I meant that you're an idiot if you get in a fight and a knife is involved, in any way/on either side of things.
U MAD?
Ah,k. I misunderstood it.
