Make Skeletons permanent and range minion.

We already have zombies as melee minion why not just make skeletons permanent and archers. Giving the necromancers that sense of having an army. With the optimization update I think the game would be able to handle an additional 1-3 skeleton archers. To make them balance out make skeleton archers have low life (their usual 3k health) and pathetic attack speed but with decent damage.Necromancers can also have a choice between an archer skeleton for physical dps or mage skeleton for elemental dps.

Sorry forgot to clarify, we get to use skeleton archers for physical range dps. Using Dead Reckoning we can change skeleton archers to mage skeletons for range elemental damage.
Yeah that would be nice honestly but they're too stubborn.

Well in a sense there is still vaal skeletons, I wonder why not just use raging spirit with attack speed and crit chance/damage.

I can always summon more Raging Spirits on top of the Skeletons. And Vaal Summon Skeletons can't be directed as accurately as individual summons and isn't available all the time, for example Izaro fights.

Point is, Skeletons can be summoned where you want them, when you need them and then you can forget about them, while all other summons run off wherever or follow you around. They may not be a good choice as main damage skill, but they have a use as support. Also, their full physical damage synergizes well with Maim and Spirit Offering.

Skeletons really need to be permanent minions too. It really doesn't make a whole lot of sense the way they currently are. Sure there might need to be some adjustments made if they go perm with them but it feels so bad using them that I've only used them as an ace in the hole against tough enemies. Hell you can't even put them on a totem because all that does is keep re-spawning them before they can do anything. At that point I'm just better off using vaal skeles cause you get a lot more bang for your buck.

I can see Raise Skeletons getting a permanence and varied summon types via threshold jewels. Something like the series for Golems would be great so you can build entirely around skeletons.
