[3.1] The Blinding Blizzard - Whispering Ice Berserker - Viable for Most Everything

I throw another amu into the round. I was able to get it for 50 chaos. Can´t wait until league is over to test it on my standard char.

would this be something worthwhile for this build?

Hi, i want to share my experience.
Nice thing, but im not sure it worth currency they ask for. First, as Kelvynn said u probably will have to struggle to get enough str and dex. Second - i guess you are going to play in Standard and you have a pretty better choice than a league player, for example, you may use double legacy Perandus + Cyclopean coil + Black sun. These things will raise up your int and another attributes significantly (i have 6 uniques worn in total and only double Perandus grant me 36% inc int). You also may buy a very nice Astramentis +1 curse for 13-14 ex via Poe.trade. This is a very good choice that will allow you to run 3-curse version (or 2-curse version with free 3 extra nodes like i do). You may have a look at my std elementalist (Milirissa) if you want or upload it to PoB. Her stats: 2443 int, 11700 es, 10-11k tooltip dmg (raises in combat, extra penetration etc.). Absolutely anything viable.
P.S.
I like this build so much because it's really beautifull and really satisfying (and demanding to hardware hehe :D).
Kelvynn, cheers. The most enjoyable build ever :P

Don't forget that those bonuses on that amulet doubled.
So this amulet is pretty much 92% increased cold damage, and 52% increased all atributes.
With this much increases it barely have any issues with attributes requirements, at most you will put 1 point in 30 dex node.
But well, cost is enourmous, and it's randomness on the same level as watcher's eye, so yeah...

Welp, we already have around 750-800% increase modificators on our damage, so i don't think that another 110% or so will be such big deal.

But i guess i'm just way too much overhyped by that BiS eyes of the greatwolf talisman :)

PoB gave me from switching astramentis to that OP talisman: 45% more damage, 16% more ES
from switching astramentis to your amulet: 8% more damage, about the same ES.

8% is pretty cool though, but i don't think that it's something so big to desperately wait to equip in standard.

Damn, that talisman totally messed up my values...
As far as i know stats on Greatwolf are already doubled. So you "just" get 46 cold dmg and 26 % attributes and not 92/52. Than that amu just give me + 1,3 % dmg and about 8 % ES.

Yeah, checked values on wiki, it's indeed so.

Damn, why GGG always need to make their wording so confusing. If implicits already doubled, then just don't place such confusing phrase in actual affix, ffs. I thought that it works the same way as breach rings...

Then it's only 14% more damage in addition to additional problems with attributes, and huge cost.
Definitely not worth it, thank you.

[Professor Farnsworth's voice] Good news, everyone! I've mastered that instance crash that happens if you leave the map after almost clearing it, to such a degree that I can make it happen any time I want. So I've submitted a detailed bug report to GGG and got a response. There is a good chance that they will finally fix it.

There is no way to avoid it though. If you've killed more than N things in a map (N is a very large number, it takes a map with a decent population + pack size + abysses/breaches) and leave for any reason - the very next thing you kill in that map after returning WILL crash the instance.

Keep that in mind when doing expensive maps. If you are not sure that you can kill the boss without dying (like T16 with nasty mods) - skip as much trash as you can and do the boss first, then clear backwards to the start. Do not enter any Haku/Vagan/Tora sub-areas. Save Zana and Abyss Depths for after clearing everything.

Hopefully, this won't be a thing for much longer.

I rlly like this build but i just want to ask if there is a good corruption for a whispering ice because "+1 area of effect" doesn't work and i don't know if there is one that can be good

Probably not, 18% chance to block way better than anything that corruption can give in return.
Question about passive tree points:

Going with CI version, AND having Pyre ring (100% cold to fire), can the following adjustment be justified?

Instead of taking Coldhearted Calculation and Trickery, which is 6 points of:
70 Int + 12% increased spell damage + 20% increased elem damage = 39% increased damage

how about taking Explosive Impact and Storm Weaver (witch area left), which is 6 points of:
45% increased fire damage + 43% increase ice damage = 88% increased damage?
Does anyone know how to fix the instance crashing with whispering ice?

Still crashing a lot and losing maps...
