I'm considering the switch to FG's. Currently running 2/2 SG's and TV's for tier 15+ and 4 SG's for anything lower, and while it feels fine, I feel like if I get rid of my VM for a 6L belly and run 3 FG's + 3 TV's I'd have better results overall. Is my line of thought correct?
Baldrick your gloves and doom whorl ring are terrible for this build, fire damage will mess with elemental equilibrium.
Also why isn't anyone trying cannibal fire eaters to supplement SG? Everyone spending so many sockets and exalts for two different setup of specters or golems when there is no need.
Well, I'm actually more confused at people trying to go further away from what this build is good at. Natt's Burning Spectres is about the tankiest variant of a Spectre Summoner as you can get, which is very valuable for HC players. With the downside of the build being unsuited for Solar Guards which requires a tremendous Dexterity investment. This is where TV comes in.
Although I can understand why. I used to play a variation of Natt's build back in Harbinger, and used it a lot for Shaper and Guardian farming and oh boy the build was fantastic. Unfortunately, TV and Wicker was nerfed to the ground (in my eyes), I've tried everything I could this league to make it work and they just got completely outshined by Solar Guards it's not even funny. Solar Guards today can kill Guardians and Shaper faster than even pre-nerfed TVs with Fortress. Problem is, Natt's build not really that suited with that particular Spectre due to the heavy Dex requirements for Haste and GMP.
While I agree dex can be an issue I just sacrificed a jewel slot (and some mana from the lost int) for a Careful planning jewel. Otherwise I follow this build I love the tankiness, it's just that I love clear speed too and I don't think losing 4 sockets is better than using careful planning. I also don't use haste, what I do use is projectile weakness as a second curse and that one does take some dex but the damage boost is huge. For HC temportal chains is always nice instead.

Im using Tabula atm and still killed every boss end game with 3tv+FG. I am also satisfying with clearing speed I can do now. which armor piece u want is a luxury addition for this build, that's y Im against Vis, reducing 20% minion hp is not a good option to me. I am saving up ex for a belly, but u could also want other pieces that benefits you most. In my case. I got 3k+mana, 5800HP and 120 armour, belly will benefit me tremendously. If one has 6k HP and 2k mana I think Cloak will benefits him the most. other options also viable depends on one's current stats.
Well, I made the switch and am currently running 3 FG's + 3 TV"s with a 6L Belly. I took a bit of a leap of faith as I was pretty content with my 2 SG + 2 TV setup with a 5L Mortis, but If you have the Ex to spare for FG's, it's totally worth it.

My gear:
emmm but you not use AG. Why? AG get you triple increase damage for TV!

No it's fine, like I said, Natt's Burning Spectre is arguably the best build for what it does. This is very prominent in previous leagues because Tukohama Vanguards were a beast of a spectre, they could be used to farm end game bosses without much investment in minion stats at all, heck I've done a bunch of Shaper runs with this build on a 4L just fine.
That being said, there's no reason (for me) to use TVs anymore. And I've played Summoners for too long to know that going the left side of the tree for a build that uses a high dex gems are not the best way to go, but that does not mean that going left is bad, is just inefficient alongside Solar Guards, and going overboard with tankyness outside of HC (again, for me) is not worth the time investment.
