[3.x - Discontinued for now] Burning Spectres - Torch the Atlas - HC Shaper, Elder, Uber Atziri
I fully decked out my AG with 2x Dyadus, BoR, Victario's Flight, Icetomb, and some good unique gloves (forgot the name atm) so he is really a tank, I have rarely seen his health drop below 100% (and in those few instances a quick Convocation fixed that problem) in my mapping up to T13 so far. AG is linked to Raise Zombie, Minion Life, and Empower (level 2) also which just makes it invincible from what I've seen. I'm debating whether or not I should bring it into the Shaper fight when I eventually reach him to see if AG can tank the beam!
However, the gem is now Level 20 and Quality 0. If I use the Gem recipie and switch AG FROM 20/0 to a Level 1/Q20 gem, will my AG lose all his amazing geaR??? :( I am scared to test it out and risk loosing everything (I am on Xbox so getting all the gear off the trade board was a bit of a chore) Last edited by F10und3r#7913 on Mar 28, 2018, 4:38:13 PM

A couple of questions...
What is everyone's preference on movement skill? Would shield charge make the most sense since we get bonus movement speed from Mistress of Sacrifice? The guide mentions using Unending Hunger but only with the Solar Guard setup. Why wouldn't this jewel work with TVs? Under Gem Links, it's recommended to use both Burning Damage support and Elemental Focus on the TV setup. Wouldn't Elemental Focus prevent you from being able to burn enemies? Or is the damage from Scorching Ray still considered burning damage? Does anyone still use WM since the nerf? I can't seem to find a consensus on whether or not they're worth using. I plan on doing 4x TV for guardians/elder/shaper and then 2x TV and 2x SG for clearing maps. 4x SG seems like overkill and having the 2x extra TV help for red beast mobs and map bosses. The only problem is TVs won't benefit from spell echo or GMP. | |
" Vanguards are not doing direct damage, like solar guards. They are summoning totem what does damage and the jewel has no effect. Same reason why Aspect of the Spider is preferred instead of avian when using vanguards. |

" For movement speed I use whirling blades instead of shield charge. I think WB doesn't go as far distance wise as SC...but it also allows you to go "through" a pack of enemies so I like it because it allows me to have better positioning. If I get trapped in a corner by a swarm of enemies I can escape unlike SC. Or when I enter a room I can simply WB *through* the pack of enemies to get behind them where it is 'more safe' and let my minions engage. I don't think this class is meant to be a super meta clearspeed beast in the endgame so losing some small movement speed but gaining the aforementioned options made more sense to me. (Also the animation for WB reminds me of palpatine doing is lightsaber barrel roll so there's that :P) Regarding Unending Hunger, I'm pretty sure that the SR totems (which do 99% of the damage) aren't really affected when your TV's are buffed by the gem. I could be wrong but even though the TV's themselves get much bigger, I haven't really noticed a difference in the totems themselves. Seems like nobody really knows what the totems are or how they work and GGG doesn't want to tell us (hence why TVs are not in PoB) so most of the opinions we are seeing on this thread and elsewhere are really just educated guesses based on experience and some trial/error. I think the burning damage is a DoT (damage over time mechanic) which is separate from the fire damage that the totem does. IIRC the scorching ray puts it's own DoT on targets so perhaps it can't have a second DoT from the elemental focus gem??? I used to run with 3 TV and 1 WM (now that I have Vis Mortis chestpiece I can have a total of 4 spectres). The WM did seem to help a bit with clearing out packs of enemies, especially when it was buffed by the Unending Hunger gem. But the totems do plenty of damage by themselves and the zombies also kill small normal enemies relatively quickly. This build excels as a big boss killer so for me, going 4 TVs made more sense in order to be the best at what it does. Additionally any time I lost my spectres, took my chestpiece off to try getting a 5/6L, or accidentally swapped chest pieces, I had to go and resummon all my spectres over again. I'm lazy and hated having to go to multiple places and spend 10 minutes getting all of them setup so keeping 4 TVs also makes it quicker and easier to get going. I never played this build before the "nerf" so I can't give a comparison of the before and after. Never tried SG as again I see this class as a boss killer and if I want to quickly clear maps I am working on a separate character for that. Last edited by F10und3r#7913 on Mar 28, 2018, 2:46:56 PM

Is this something this build could use ? It's possible to remove the 2 suffixes |

I'm havin some trouble, the leveling guide tells you to follow a path that is not the same of the PoB link
which one should I follow? |

nice build :o)

Hey, does bone offering still give life on block? The skill doesnt mention it, however the effect on the top left says it does. No info on wiki :/
| |
" Well, wiki says " Later will see it in game, but yes, you are right, only the buff icon says about life recovery on block. Didn't noticed that effect on myself, but think that this is because of Mistress of Sacrifice, the effect is only 50%. Will observe that. |

Easiest way to notice the bone offering effect is to cast it, get in the middle of a pack, and see your mana dropping, while hp remains full.
