[3.2] Juggernaut - Tectonic Slam - 1.1 mil DPS - Crit - Stormwall/Hegemony's Era **UPDATED** 3/4/18
Hi guys,
I am playing a similar build and since there are questions on AoF I like to share my experience and moving forward with this build: AoF is the way to go in my humble opinion. 100% Fire is insane especially as you are close to the node or if rich to get the Xoph's blood amulet. Fire Penetration gem is the best dps gem you can get as it nets 50-100% more damage, especially vs bosses (with resists) where it matter the most of course. 402k dps - no charges selected or flasks (thats for tooltip warriors) / 247k vs shaper - without buffs again. I think the armor goes like this Kaom's Heart > Belly of the Beast > Creicean's Carapace Kaom gives you HP and Dmg. I really dont think the Ancestral Warchief is needed, but for sure it can add to your dps. Belly is clear - defence, ress, hp. Creicean I tried, but in any case I am capped at 90% mitigation. With the helm enchant, endurance charges dont really drop below 9 much. I dont see the value of it in terms of mitigation much and on top of that reserves 25% mana. 2. Jewels. Regular jewels work better for me then murderous/abyss jewels. I tried many combinations. Especially if you have kaoms - a % life is better than flat. Also fire or phys dmg to attacks and staff does not increase much dps vs Multi or Crit strike. I tried also the abyss jewels with %inc attack speed or on hit effects - not great. Here is my search for jewels. I might miss something, but gives you a good idea about the combinations for a great 4 stat jewel. You can remove the fire ress at the bottom, I am trying to find one to make my wise oak to work :) http://poe.trade/search/aherihokadagak 3. Flasks Pretty standard in my opinion, just dont get atziri flask it wont work with AoF. 4. Other gear. Boots Death's door are good, but also is Kaom's roots especially if you want to use Crab armor. Weapon can be replaced. You can go dual with a stat stick in offhand, but will change the tree and AoF. Get a better dps staff (gl with that) or try another 2h. Moving forward: 1. Progressing current build I would take the Power charge and Frenzy charge. Having total of 9 end, 5 Power and 4 Frenzy is a Christmas tree experience. Even thinking for parties to use the Lochtonial Caress. Sharing 18 charges makes everyone lit! Dps will suffer a bit for sure, but overall will be fun. https://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Lochtonial_Caress Also will get most likely an extra jewel socket as they are extremely powerful and provide flexibility. Dont think i need more HP 2. Going Blood Magic With Kaoms you can really go crazy and do blood magic + the life behind it. I just hate the Vitality void walk on the tree. Change these 5 points to BM and you will get close to 9k or more in HP if you want. Then you can use a fire life leach if rich or lucky on gear (shaper/elder item, neck i believe) 3. Going Farul's Fur and Aspect of the Cat This is my ultimate goal. I need to remove the xoph's blood and get a good neck to give me aspect of the cat. Will spec into AoF on the tree. The chest itself provides decent Armor, Life and constant Power and Frenzy charges - which we have! The aspect of the Cat gives different defensive buff, we want to get hit for endurance charge generation, but it will be fine im sure. I've been trying to make this build, I've just been very confused by all the stuff that has been said in the thread and OP not updating his build annoys me. So, as I understand it: 1) We don't actually take a lightning golem and take ice golem instead. Thanks for making me waste a lot of chromas. 2) We drop Hatred, then get Anger or get the Craiceann's Carapace and a curse with blasphemy. This will make us apply two curses however, with the appropriate gloves. 3) Hegemony is BiS weapon for us, period. 4) We take Avatar of Fire from the passive tree as we only want to deal fire damage and run physical reflect maps as well. My questions are as follows: 1) Do we level Ice Golem all the way up, or do we let the Cast when damage taken trigger it, leaving it at level 3? 2) Is the skill tree correct as shown in the build? if not, could you please post the correct build tree? 3) do we change concentrated support with inc area support while running maps or not ? 4) besides physical damage, life and resistances, what mods should we look for in rares? 5) can you post some cheaper items for us poor players who can't afford to pay 1-2 ex's for every piece of equipment? Checking your PoB link, your "1.1 mill DPS" comes from running conc effect, AND checking trash mobs. I am automatically going to assume that you're not running conc effect while clearing, so the title is VERY miss-leading. I also automatically assume that builds that has a click-bait title is bad.
But for people who are interested in this build. The shaper dps with his hegemony's era is just below 600k, and that is about as realistic as it gets. You will not be generating frenzy charges on Shaper, and neither will you be generating power charges. Flasks are checked though, and so is maim. Trash clear will be about 900k realistic dps. You will be running having all charges up, and probably flask, but you wont be running Conc effect, so i slapped in an AoE gem instead. Also disabled maim since you wont be maiming trash mobbs, realistically. For all of you who are reading this, please read the following sentence in bold and print it in your head: DO NOT POST TRASH MOBB DPS - Because anyone who knows just a tiny little bit about how the game works, knows that trash mobb dps doesn't mean shit. With that said, i'm gonna' end this by saying that the build is not bad. The dps is enough to do most content, probably. Sorry for bashing your thread. I got rid of maim and included a fire pen instead, my question is should I consider another build for my 5-linked weapon instead of ancestral warchief? I seem to be doing good damage, not sure if I need to concern myself with the ancestral warchief. maybe something to buff my own damage and survivability so I can face-tank things? |

Would the crab chest work with this? Im kinda tempted for my future jugg to get one cause of the defensive abilities, hatred and herald needs enlighten though cause of crab mana reserve.

The reason I posted DatModz PoB with "shaper" on is that generally when sharing and discussing build DPS we use shaper DPS and not normal trash mob dps. @qvaza Thanks for your thoughts your gear is pretty dope keep it up and let us know your insights are very much appreciated. @people asking yet again if they can use different weapons / dual wield. This is PoE guys ! Try it out, honestly there is a lot of different ways to make every build work. If the slow leap of staff annoys you definitely try the dual wield method. @people complaining about OP not updating. Chill out? Let them play the game there is tonnes of people posting in here with updates and thoughts you don't need the actual first post to be updated do some reading. |

I recently saw the new Loreweave unique body, what do you think about that body armour for this build? Armor kinda sucks but other props are good for us, especially crit, elemental damage and physical damage. |

Finally managed to 6-link this! Now to firm up on the colours so that I can beast craft the 30% quality corruption for about 540 DPS.

I think we pretty much have to go pure fire with AoF since Tectonic Slam converts 60% to fire. And Tectonic Slam justifies going Crit Staff, instead of Crit Sword, to benefit from the 10% chance to gain charge on crit. This lets us benefit from Fire Penetration (incl Wise Oak) vs bosses, and very good scaling (with Multistrike, MPD, Ele Dmg with Att, Ele Focus). However, this implies that our AW totem basically deals little damage since the 50% physical dmg is ignored. For the same reason, Hatred is bad. As such, the value of having a 5/6L chest is low, so you don't suffer the negative effect of going Kaom's Heart as much - I think it's BIS for Chest. For the remaining links, I'm thinking: - Ice Golem, HoA, Determination (going Abyssus), Bloodrage - CWDT (higher lvl, around 15?), Immortal Call, Increased Duration, Enfeeble - Leap Slam, FA, Fortify, Ancestral Warchief/Protector Alternatively, to run Frenzy with Leap's gems (and AW alone) to build Frenzy charges on bosses. Not sure if that makes sense though. Also don't quite understand why so many people are going Oskarm since we are not stacking Accuracy and Hege already gives power charges so the Assassin's Mark is actually bad since it overrides our own curse. There are possibilities for variants of the build, especially when using the totem only for buffs and sockets become free.
One possiblity to maintain power charges during hard boss fights: You can use an increased critical for faster generation, or the increased area for more lazy targeting. Culling strike gives you a "10 % more damage" on boss fights to complensate for less totem damage. |
