Hey Kay, i saw a lot of complain about spectres dying maps, and this made me think about an old spectre friend of mine, lightning Risen Vaal Advocate. They are the tanky and lightning version of Solar guards, can be found in Alva's temple and in Vaal City in the mines. The easiest way is to do a temle asap.

They are caster, can be scaled by wrath and zealotry, pretty fast and verry tanky (i remember doing reflect maps with them and they only dropped to half life on a pack to leech back up on then next)

Pure Spectre is higher DPS because everything is about boosting spectre damage. It's very simple mechanic: deathmark + EE/curse,

Spectres & Spiders is more for mapping speed. Actually the total DPS can get more DPS for endgame bosses, but you have to use Writhing Jar and have good timing. Mechanic is like desecrate x2 + divine ire + worm jar + deathmark + EE/curse.

If you use Raise Spectre in body, you need to get clean level 25.

1. Ascendancy +2

2. +1 boots (Bones of Ullr is +1 raise spectre. 1c)

3. RS21
Level up many Raise Spectre in offhand. use Vaal and hope for 21. Spectre speed isn't so important, so you can skip 20 quality.

4. Choose one:
b. +1 amulet
c. +1 wand

b. amulet is to craft because can't target +1. alt spam and hope for luck! (or just buy 1-2ex)

c. wand is hard to craft. +1 gem has low seed. and you want damage as well and empty suffix.

Late you can craft +1 boots. Craft with bound fossil. The chance is quite good, but can be unlucky. (or just buy 1-2ex?)

Note: +1 boots is the best option because you can use a temple wand with 66% damage and 5% double damag. It's same DPS as wand with 80% increase. But it is very hard to craft +1 and 80% increase on same wand! And any wand like that is expensive.

Do any of you take your time looking for the 'right' slave driver for your spectre? Ie. looking for rare spawns or does that not matter?
