You are right it doesn't matter. It's left over from 3.7 in which I had Haste, Zealotry, Wrath and Generosity in the helmet. Haste was unlinked to provide player buff for Commander of Darkness and I've kept that socket unlinked.

If I make a new build video for 3.9, I'll say "it can be unlinked" instead of "it should be unlinked".

There's no real way to make a W&S v3 because the priority was league start/SSF and survivability. Optimisation can give a small amount of DPS, but the build itself wasn't designed for it.

In contrast, because the PoH build is not a league starter, the DPS and survivability aren't limited by currency or SSF and the expensive unique gear is what gives the build its power.

So, if you want to use a wand & shield (ie. you like trigger), then the easiest option is to simply use the PoH build without PoH (use the tree and all items except PoH).

This change will even open up more options for DPS/survivabilty balance. For example, you could sacrifice survivability to get 4.1M per spectre with a config like this:

PoH will feel better if you stick with Slave Drivers because of the increase aoe. However, if you start to experiment with other spectres, W&S EB/MoM may actually be better because you can make use of Necro Aegis & Vic's for frenzy/power changes. For example, using a Crit/Frost Sentinal build for offscreen freeze/shatter.

Build variant:

4 spectres, 1.3M each (730K consistent, without EE) (Wrath, Haste, Skitterbots, Zealotry)

Defenses:

- MoM with Devouring Diadem
- ~5,2K HP
- ~2.2K ES
- 50% / 33% Block chance
- Enfeeble
- Discipline
- defensive Zombies
- switchable skitterbots - purity of elements for ele weakness
- CWDT - Steelskin - Frostwall

Damage can be boosted by removing Discipline in cost of ~600 ES and ES regen

Thats giving up combined 2k hp+es compared to what is possible with the usual tree for not much of a dps gain in favor of trying to get the most out of es, which i dont think is worth it at all compared to something like this

The same for the other build posted after this, all the increased dmg comes from the ascendancy and using Aegis+Victarios.

What i was arguing for last night was trying to maintain maximum survivability while achieving more dmg than your Leaguestarter version.

Just hit 99, going for 100 using Wand and shield V2.

Spectre DPS is 750k shaper, without Deathmark active

9k hp, facetank T16 130% quant maps. Block 69%/45%, phys damage reduction 71%.

Only dangers are blight bosses and red beasts with some mods stacking. Maybe I'll switch to PoH once I hit 100.

I don’t have a good elder shield right now, can I use lioneye’s remorse instead? Planning switch to v2 to reach lv 100 because I feel a little squishy with v1 build

Leave it there, the int doesnt have to be allocated.

I'm using PoH build, but i need to vorici my PoH to use frost sentinel/slave driver.

Is spell damage on PoH worth and apply to spectres or not ? ( should i get a max roll before white socketed it)
