I've been really struggling to do incursions with this build. The damage is awful and it takes forever for things to die. I can't even kill the architects in time, let alone open a door. Hell, anything with a time limit is incredibly irritating. t14 research and transports are face-desk inducing.

I'm clearly doing something wrong.

You took too many jewel sockets too early, save them for later when you can get good jewels. Plus you made some questionable choices in your tree, try to aim for something like this: http://poeurl.com/cd25

Besides, you are only running purity of elements? you should be running wrath and discipline as well

In POB, changing your tree to the one I suggested and adding wrath, you damage basically doubles

I'm trying the alternate tree someone else posted that uses point blank. I doubt I'll ever be able to afford a 6-link so that might help. We'll see.

Thanks for the advice!

Yeah, I FINALLY got an enlighten gem so I'm working on leveling it. I was under the impression I'd need to get it to level 4 to be able to use the other auras, but I'll try adding those and see if it doesn't eat too much mana.
Hey, I've got similar items stats to this guide except for the amulet, rings and jewels and I'm at 5.2k ES. Burning through t8 but I'm wondering what I could do with these stats? Capped Res too, lvl 93. Could I do tier 9? 10? Without being 1 shot?

were you using this alternate tree earlier when you posted? because Im pretty sure I loaded you character in POB and it wasn't like that hahaha

either way, I agree with OP, it's not really worth it going all the way over PB, it might be OKish when you are like level 97+, because you can afford the passive points, in you level is not worth IMO because of the long pathing
Which skills can be used here as main skill apart from blade flurry?

I can't recommend enough that you get a +2 MS helm (or at least a + 1 helm).

Without the helm enchant, your output is 3 (gem base) + 2 (jewel) projectiles (I'm ignoring Ancestral Call as it doesn't matter for what I'm discussing).

But with the +2 helm enchant, your output is 3 (gem base) + 2 (jewel) + 2 (helm).

5 w/o helm enchant
7 w/ helm enchant

Damage gain w/ helm enchant is: (7 - 5) / 5 x 100% = 40%.
===
Unfortunately, an iLevel 84, non-mirrored ES helm with the enchant is very expensive. However, you can purchase a mirrored helm for far less and if you look back in this thread, someone is offering a crafting service for such helms.
====
TL/DR - lack of a +2 helm enchant is a huge DPS loss. Getting a +2 MS helm will dramatically increase your DPS.

You can mitigate the loss using a Dying Sun flask - with the drawbacks that this flask is somewhat expensive and during long boss fights, the flask will obviously not be up all the time.
===
A 6-link is a huge DPS gain as well. 6-link Incandescent Hearts are only 4.5 ex currently in Betrayal - after the helm, I'd get a 6-link chest.

Awesome build! Most of the content(uber elder including) casually down with 15 ex investment while shaper was down at about 5 ex char using this build. Also war banner feels like a decent buff to us due to accuracy/as.

I've had kinda same problem with Atzoatl at the begining, but not that harsh. After some scaling and getting 6-link problem was completely solved, now I can speedrun even t16 Incursion with ease and decent time left after clearing things. So yea consider some investment to feel good. My bet 6-link and flasks set is a key.

Spoiler
I'm on BF version tho.

=====================

As addition I recommend to use new skill storm brand with blind and culling strike as a nice addtional reliable defensive and offensive layer in second CWDT setup.

Some things:
Your Discipline is level 14 or so.
ES on your shield is very low.
Your Watcher's Eye should have the Gain % of Maximum Mana as Extra Maximum Energy Shield while affected by Clarity mod.

Possibly other issues as well.

It's an Energy Shield based build, so the idea is to use Discipline (the normal version) to get more Energy Shield. The Vaal Discipline is not even completely mandatory, is just a nice QoL to pop it when you are in danger and don't have anything to hit so you can leech, but I don't use it and never had any problems
