There is nothing to do in Standard other than strutting around in alt art legacy items. And there are astronomical amounts of currency in Standard. Naturally, that's what is considered 'valuable' and 'expensive'. But that's a different game. Call it 'PoE Museum' or w/e.

The correct question should be: what are the most expensive items in a temporary PoE league?

For example- incursion league - Vial of sacrifice (" very cheap", actually from ~ ? -200 ex. Hard to evaluate in 100 %- league is dead, unfortunately.

Whats would an alt art alpha's howl go for now ? i remember one going for a ridiculous price to some streamer a while back

I'm ok with that. I played Incursion for a minute, and it was OK, but starting over from scratch is just not my thing.

And, I'll never play hardcore. I'm just not that kind of gamer, so those new leagues are always out.

The idea of being mapping in a day, or hours, or even day 3 is just not my idea of "fun" when starting over. I know, that technically means that PoE isn't the game for me, since this game seems to have a love for the massive time sink / no life type of play, but I just wanted a Diablo style ARPG that I could have fun with.

My idea of fun would be to see them up the rate of Vaal Side areas spawning, and decrease the drop rate of Her Mask Divination cards. I like killing things. I like the exploration. Delve seems cool, but I'm not a good enough player to start over, and get to play the league at a high enough level where I have a good shot at going deep in the dungeon.
