You can just use a claw with a crafted "Hits can't be Evaded" mod until you can afford a Lycosidae. Just use a claw with that mod and use another shield until then. Here's a search of "Hits can't be Evaded" claws on the official PoE trade site: https://www.pathofexile.com/trade/search/Betrayal/OwJ2yzUE

You are really hurting your accuracy by using two claws. Blade Flurry also swaps between weapons if you use 2 weapons. This is why it is more optimal to use one claw with the "Hits can't be Evaded" mod and a shield in the other hand. If anything, you can also just use a Ornament of the East since it is a claw that has the "Hits can't be Evaded" mod as well.

Hopefully this helps. Let me know if you have any other questions. :)

I have a question. As a new player, i want to know how to level with the build.
You pretty much can just level with rare/unique claws with a Double Strike setup. This is how I level up my melee builds in general.

Double Strike can be obtained early in the game so you can just keep using Double Strike on a 4 link which should carry you through until you can get the two required uniques, Bloodseeker and Lycosidae.

Once you hit level 46, you can use a unique claw called Ornament of the East. It is a good substitute to use since it has the 'Hits can't be Evaded' mod on it. You can also just find some rare claw on poe.trade with the crafted mod 'Hits can' be Evaded' mod as well.

Unfortunately, Lycosidae costs a lot more now because of all of the CoC (Cast on Crit) builds that have came out since of the CoC skill gem rework. You are going to have to go slow and steady until you can get the required items.

Just a simple Double Strike setup should get you through the game. On a 4 link, just use Double Strike > Added Fire Damage/Ruthless > Multistrike Support > Melee Splash Support. If you can get a Vaal Double Strike, the Vaal version of the skill clears mobs and downs bosses really well too.

When you hit Act 9 and get to the area called the Blood Aqueducts, I would just level there until 60-70 when you can finally use all of your end game gear. Just get rares with life+resists on them and you should be pretty good to start off.

Hopefully these tips help. Let me know if you need anything else. :)

Good luck!

Hey man, thx for the quick reply. Indeed yes i have some question (newbie ones but still...)

1-As soon as i get level 28, can i switch any skill i have for blade flurry?
2-I don't know how to pick a good rare. Is there any way to learn or theorycraft on the net? (kinda off so answer as you like)
3-I have 2 Nailed Fist uniques, can i use them properly on the build?

Nothing wrong with being a newbie. I'm here to help and glad that you are still sticking with PoE. :)

You can definitely use Blade Flurry if you want instead of the Double Strike setup I mentioned. I just use Double Strike to level my melee builds because it can be used at level 1 and you get it so early in the game. If you want to use Blade Flurry at 28, feel free to. It might be a bit hard to use as a beginner though. Reason being is because Blade Flurry works on a 'release' mechanic. Blade Flurry can stack up to 6 stages. The way to optimize Blade Flurry is to keeping holding down Blade Flurry until it builds up to 6 stages, and then releasing it by letting go of you button you held down for the skill to make it 'release' which will do a burst of rapid damage. It takes a bit getting used to, but once you do, it deals a solid amount of damage. You will see a green Blade Flurry icon with a small number which represents the stages the skill is currently at.

You can use the same Blade Flurry setup I have listed in my build list. If you only have a 4 link, then just use the first four gems and so on if you get a 5 or 6 link in the future. The way to pick a good rare is actually pretty simple. For this build specifically, since you will not have access to Lycosidae for the 'Hits can't be Evaded' mod, then you can find a rare claw with 'Hits can't be Evaded' crafted mod. Matter of fact, here is a trade link for that actual search to make things easier on you. https://www.pathofexile.com/trade/search/Betrayal/OwJ2yzUE

You can pick one of these up for 1-3 chaos and sometimes even less if you are lucky. Obviously the one with more attack and damage boosting mods such as increased attack speed, critical strike chance, critical strike multiplier, added physical/elemental damage and the like will make the weapon better, but obviously cost more. Do what works for your budget. If anything, you can also drop the 'Hits can't be Evaded' mod since accuracy isn't too much of a problem earlier on in the game. If you do, you can find an even cheaper rare claw depending on your budget. Here is a trade search for just rare claws in general not factoring in the 'Hits can't be Evaded' mod. https://www.pathofexile.com/trade/search/Betrayal/4m0ZT9

As you can see, the item gets even cheaper without the mod. I suggest just using one of these rare claws you can afford from the search until you get way stronger. When you start getting stronger and need more damage, that is when you want to get a rare claw with the 'Hits can't be Evaded' mod. Critical strikes scale off of accuracy, and since this build is a pure crit build, this is why accuracy is so important for us.

So, that is the rare weapon side of things. For other rare items such as actual gear, then I would say just focus on getting as much life+resistances that you can find on them. 100 life on your items is what you are going to try to aim for. If you can get resistances alongside this, then you are usually pretty much set as rare gear goes. For example, here is a quick body armor search for 80+ life and 50% to total resistances for super cheap. https://www.pathofexile.com/trade/search/Betrayal/p8Pwg3S0

As you can see, all of this stuff can be traded for dirt cheap. As long as you get life+resists on your gear and utilize a skill within at least a 4 link, you should level easily through the game until the end-game stage. It might be a bit intimidating first, but with these simple tips, you should be able to get yourself through all of this.

So, main tips for good rate items? For rare weapons, the more damage you can get on them, the better. Look for damage boosting mods and mods that are specific for your build. For example, this build relies on critical strikes, so look for weapons that have good damage and have critical strike multiplier.

For rare gear, look for the best life+resist rolls you can get for maximum survivability. These come really cheap as you saw from the links I posted. You can get them for less than a chaos which is extremely affordable, even for a newbie starting fresh. You can get a lot of random currency like Alterations, Jewelers and so on, so make sure you save them so you can trade for some items down the line.

As for your two nailed fist, whatever can boost your damage, use what you can. Just try to upgrade your items if you notice that you are dying or not dealing as much damage to enemies. It's a good sign you need to upgrade your gear at that point. To make it simpler, I would probably upgrade your gear every 5-10 levels just to make sure you stay on top of your game. Resistances are really important and even more so after you kill the last boss in the normal story. When you kill the 'boss' in the story, you will get resistance penalties which is why making sure you cap your resistances is important.

Theory-crafting can be easily found on YouTube. Just do a simple crafting search for Path of Exile and you will get numerous videos. I would also highly recommend you use Path of Building. PoB is a program that lets you upload your character or just custom make a character to plan how a character will turn out and see what their potential is. You can create custom gear in PoB to see how much that item will benefit you which you then can try to search for a similar item or craft one yourself in PoE. It is also useful for seeing if an item you want to trade for benefits your build or not. You can copy items from the PoE trade website into PoB to check how the item affects your build before you actually make the trade. You can also find numerous PoB tutorials on YouTube as well.

I know it is a bit of a read, but I assure you these tips will help you greatly. Let me know if you need anything else from me. I'm always here to help. :)

I cannot properly thank you enough, OP. Thanks for all the hints, helps a lot a player like me to enjoy the game on its best. I'm still learning about prefixes and suffixes but this isn't the right place to discuss it. I'll continue to leveling and reply later in the season to a newbie review, if is your interest.

Im updating here my progression, finally got rid of the tabula rasa and could 6l my lorewave, i made a lot of changes on tree, currently at lvl 86, probably gonna lvl till 94 or 95, lets see how much i can handle since the build lacks clear speed ( i kept my ST Slayer for clear)

About the changes on tree: Since we use Iron reflexes i feel really bad using Acrobatics, probably will drop Heartseeker when i get my watchers eye and respec for jewels/retaliation/Hired Killer, will think about it when i get there, i really want to reach 6k life at lvl 94/95

here is my PoB at current time, i would really appreciate if u can take a look at it in share ur toughts here.

About the tombfist, since we alreay have maim on BF setup, and i cant afford 2 abyssal, im using a spiked gloves with flat phys and attack speed, gona re craft to get phys to light conversion when i get the watchers eye, will try to get one with increased light and hopefully extra light or critical strike chance with wrath.

Since i dont have yet a lvl4 enlight im using Herald of ash and Purity with punish, will drop ash for wrath after get the enlight (next upgrade)

https://pastebin.com/Zb40gZzj

Ty for the guide, facetank is my favorite kind of builds, i really enjoyed ur build (even with me changing some nods on tree)

Glad that you have been enjoying the build and still sticking with it. Congrats on 6 linking your Loreweave too. :)

Honestly, Acrobatics/Phase Acrobatics are some of the best defensive nodes in the game. Nothing wrong if it doesn't suit your playstyle though. We only really got Iron Reflexes because of Unwavering Stance. If you don't use Unwavering Stance, you don't really need to use Iron Reflexes at all. Really, I just supplied the template of the build. The customizing is all up to you. Mold it to how you want it run. :)

You will definitely reach the 6K life mark if you just get more on your gear so don't worry about that. The build utilizes a lot of jewel sockets so you will get a lot of extra health going that route too. The sockets are really just there to fill in what you're missing and they do a great job at that.

Your gloves are pretty good too. Really, the Tombfists are really just more so for the Intimidate. You can get a one socket one if you like too. Your choice here, completely. The aura setup is fine too. Until you can get Enlighten gems, just run the gems that work best for you until then.

As you know, I'm always here so if you have any questions or anything of that sort, drop it here and I'll get back to you as soon as I can.

Good luck!
