Path of Exile: Betrayal Patch Notes

"Disabled the Vortex Labyrinth Helmet enchantments that increase the base radius of Vortex. Existing items with this enchantment will go unchanged, but this enchantment cannot appear on any more items."

Damn, wouldn't want Vortex to take up more than 1/100 of the screen! Thank goodness you made this change! Vortex was really, really overpowered with all that area it was getting!
(2-3-2019) Buff underused skills (3.23?!)+ selfcast, stop nerfing defense, build in threshold jewels (3.23?!), implement D3-style looting, add death log + MTX preview, actually rework flasks, stop balancing around the .01%, unnerf Harvest, ADD NEW WAYS TO LEVEL, finally implement Loot 2.0
That's awful.

Too much nerfs without any justification. The only good thing you did by the nerfs is probably saving Havoc's sanity, because he doesn't need to get to 6000 anymore. Everything which works good in Delve is nerfed resulting is much less enjoyable gameplay in main part of the game.

RIP stat sticks (and melee in general, specifically Molten Strike), poet's pen (useless without max resistance flasks and Zerphi's flask), RIP good Zana mods (single good mod now is Harbinger), QoTF and Phase Run.

I don't get it, why do you want to reduce the total number of good builds so much? People who don't like powerful builds are free to play private leagues, you can add private league mod like "no zerphi's" and look at number of people who actually want this kind of gameplay.

Maybe new league content will add a lot of new broken stuff to play with, I don't know, but these nerfs are huge disappointment. Nerfs are always bad, buffs to weak/underused things is way to go and worked well in leagues since Abyss.

It's sad.
Let's think about it before complain.
NERF:
-3 balls and -25% AoE (-1 Wildfire = -25% AoE / -2 Balls) (-1 Balls from Lab Enchant)

BUFF:
MORE BASE DAMAGE = "...161% of base damage (up from 147%) at gem level 20."
MORE DAMAGE PER BALLS = "...30% less damage (from 40%) at gem level 20."

The -25% AoE is in fact userful because less spread is better for Boss fight. And the -25% AoE of Molten Strike will barely effect the map clear potential, because (usually) it's come from the combination of Herald of Ash and/or Herald of Ice + Ancestral Call - not the Molten Strike Itself.

It's was more like a "balance" than a "nerf".
So we have "less balls" and -25% AoE at the cost of MORE DAMAGE. Lower overall damage, of course, but that was not only "less balls THAT ALL". Just think about it.

In fact these changes will impact yet another question:
-LAG (Positive) (Noticeable) - Some people complain about Molten Strike MTX causing lag, so less balls = less lag
+1 Slot for any other JEWEL. (Positive)
-Mana / Life per HIT (Negative) (Barely noticeable) - Molten Strike already HIT times enought to fullfil HP/MANA quickly.

Just don't crucify Molten Strike yet.
Peace.

Instead of "giving up", how about looking at the nerfs / changes as an opportunity for you to improve your own creative skills. Open pob..WORK around the changes.
Whining leads to nothing...i dare you to be creative..or GGG dare you.

Ive played with stat sticks too...im thrilled that they removed that option...it forces me to mix it up..and try something new, or like i said earlier..work around it.
Down give up fellow exile :)
On the bright side. The complete bias against attack based builds means that not a damn thing is changing in the meta so me missing the first week of betrayal for finals means absolutely NOTHING. I'm so goddamn sick of Blade Vortex and Arc making every other build feel terrible. There's a VERY big difference between having a few builds that are a little stronger than the rest and two skills that from the moment you socket them will carry you through endgame bosses on a damn 3 link.
Spell caster meta now no more attack builds
I want to state that I absolutely LOVE 99% of these changes.

On the side notes that I don't like so much... why the hate on leapslam? Also, why the hate on queen of the forest and windripper (and to a lesser extent, sadima's touch)? I really feel that these were pretty out of line with the rest of the buffs and occasional nerfs. MF farming SHOULD be a reasonable alternative to building a power character. I was debating on making a MF windripper build this league, and that is COMPLETELY out now. Honestly, I kinda feel like thanking you because I would probably grow bored of it and it narrowed down my league choices, but it still feels really out of line here.

As an aside, I really don't think you fixed Zerphi's breath. I appreciate the attempt, but I don't think you did it. While it will take a longer windup time with poet pen and indigon to hit 20 X 60 mana for a 1200 mana cast, that is still 6,800 life per second being regenerated. so what if that get's cancelled when we get hit? We attack 4 times a second. I also take offense that you are going to effect my legacy flask with this change. I have an 800% one and wish it to stay that way thank you very much. Changing legacy stuff is bad form.

On the major plus side... THANK YOU for fixing my Mjolner. I can even forgive the reduced projectiles on my molten strike for that. I am not sure if I will use it this league, but I am super excited to have it back to working in standard if nothing else.
I guess I will have to buy a one way ticket to hell with your lives

You could have wrote...GGG Buffed Molten strike..because they did. Its quite clear..so molten strike users doesnt have to fear anything...but seriously..i played Molten strike..i took down everything with 7 balls...having the +3 helmet (now +2) doesnt do much...its not really needed.

That's only option that is left to us anyway.
