Question regarding "Cast a socketed spell when you use a skill". Is this a crafting option or a lucky drop?

If a crafting option, where/how would i find it? Is it a random found recipe?

Thanks

This is a Veiled Mod, added in betrayal league.

https://poedb.tw/us/CraftingBenchOptions

You'll just need to unveil weapons until you find this. Once you find & unveil the crafting option with Jun, it will be added to your Crafting Bench in your hideout. From then on, you'll be able to add it to other items as well.
Well, your build is definitely more min-maxed damage-wise than mine (https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2327526), which is not that surprising considering I played SSF. Still, I think Devouring Diadem opens a bunch of possibilities for the build, since our mana can be fully reserved without affecting our survivability. In 3.6, this interaction between MoM and EB may be especially powerful due to the changes to Hatred and introduction of Zealotry. Just a consideration though, nothing mandatory, since even without this combo, the Cold DoT Trickster can take all the content the game has to offer.

thanks for the kind words! I got to use Diadem on an Explosive Trap Scion this league, and it solved problems with the build that I didn't even know I had. It's a great helmet.

In synthesis league, where we have Hatred (more cold damage) and Zealotry (more spell damage), there will be even more compelling reasons to reserving mana on a life-based Vortex character.
Considering league starting with this

Can this do all endgame bosses? Would like to clear shaper/elder this league if possible

This build can absolutely do all endgame content. The playstyle of the build is great for bossing: you can place down the DOT Vortex/Cold Snap, and then run around avoiding things.

Strictly speaking, the Occultist CI version of this build will be more consistent for bossing, and the strength of the Trickster version lies more mapping speed + durability. That said, both versions of the build are fantastic, and Vortex in general is just in a very good spot.
The trade off looks worth it to me, looks easier to gather currency/reach high levels, no awkward transition stage to ci.
I wanted to take a moment to comment on this build.

I have been playing POE for about 6 weeks. I have now leveled 8(ed) characters into the low tier mapping. To do this I have used guides to help teach me the various mechanics of the game. The last three characters I leveled has been in SSF. This character is the most recent effort.

To call leveling this build an effort is a mistake. This build has been the most fun and entertaining of all the builds I tried. In fact, I have had the most satisfaction playing this character than my very first; Emki's arc witch.

For me, the build began to shine (SSF) during act 3. I managed to get 4 linked gear making Cold Snap very good. The next break point was act 6ish when I was able to get Vortex working with support gems. Acts 7-10 where a breeze, fast and FUN.

I died to 2 bosses during the acts. I was really surprised it worked so well. My gear has been a combo of magic and rare items. I did get uniques but none really worked. I did get a Tabula Rasa after I got to maps!

Regarding the guide itself, thank you for the crafting section. I did not use it all BUT listing what attributes gear should have was invaluable. Learning about all the various vendor recipes was also very helpful. May I suggest making a standard mini guide to crafting for leveling to be pasted into all your guides.

The early game leveling (acts 1-2) was interesting. The gems for this build come at later levels. May I suggest a brief section on gems (skills) for acts 1-2 that can be transitioned into the main build gems. This would help gem choices early for leveling and transitioning into the main skills. It would certainly help the newest player.

In summary, I learned to play POE following build guides and asking questions in Twitch streams. This guide is good. This build is great FUN! I will recommend this build for everyone. It will be my SSF league starter.

Thank you for taking the time to share your build.
Looking at the patch notes, we had some changes-

-new aoe nodes near us
-small nerf to vortex damage-3%
-frost bomb change that I dont understand, probably nerf?
-hatred gives 18% more damage, maybe worth losing a ring slot, maybe not. Dunno the numbers on new aura, malevolence- We already have skill effect duration but more is always nice
-vaal cold snap can hit 2x as many enemies
-vaal righteous fire nerfed from 39%->28% ouch
-trickster dot more multiplier went from 15->20
-loreweave nerfed, can only get 78% max resists now

Build probably mostly unchanged I think

What do you think of Cloak of Defiance? it adds over 1000 ehp, might be better relatively since loreweave got nerfed rip

Im salty since my crappy self cast flameblast chieftain from last league just got a big ol buff. Dont wanna roll that build 2 leagues in a row

looking at cloak of defiance, assuming I calculated it right, It has about the same ehp ys elemental damage as loreweave, but ~12% more ehp vs other damage. That seems worth it over the elemental damage and attributes on loreweave, but it would require us to have mana on most of our items and not reserve any mana at all(rip aspect of the spider).

In 3.6 Synthesis, Loreweave will be nerfed to only 78% Maximum Resistances. Yeah, I think that Cloak of Defiance is a GREAT choice for the build.

For a MOM build, I would consider the Lavianga's Spirit Flask. Reserving 25% Mana for Spider is still very good -- personally, I would have no issue continuing to reserve 25% of my mana to keep it in the build.
