also the Grey spire gives a gives a very good damage boost for little money, no sockets though^^

So, biggest issue is obviously you are not running Discipline. You absolutely need to run it on CI build. Ideally, buy Vaal Discipline for few secs of immortality.

Also, CWDT + Immortal Call

If you are just starting and not planning to upgrade to Disintegrator soon, also Shield Charge + Fortify and Sceptre/Dagger + Shield will provide you with plenty of EHP.

I'll look into that, thanks! I like the idea of swinging around with a bigass staff too much to switch to 1h/shield :(.

Was really enjoying the revamped shield charge but had an exalt drop so picked up a near perfect Disintegrator. Time to adjust my links and go back to staves :).

So far, I dont really like the purifying flames + combustion setup. It takes too long to cast to be worth it imo, and we can get consecrated ground from a sulphur flask. Do you have any other suggestions for an alternative? Perhaps a enfeeble+bane+orb of storms setup or something like that?

What I use atm is The Rippling Thoughts + Combustion and Curse on Hit Ass Mark in it. The final build (with shields) has craft on weapon to auto cast PF, otherwise you can also use CWDT + PF + Combustion (that is waht I was using while leveling).

The speed is slow due to cycloning to keep BV stacks up. Also, the AoE is not very large on BV so it really underperforms compared to other builds(BV / Cyclone individually even).

I wouldn't mind all that if the damage was good, but I can't seem to get anything to work.

Could anyone give me some pointers, maybe some gear suggestions?

My budget is 4ex on top of what I got already.

Well, you are not really utilizing the conversion mechanics this build is based around. If you have 4 ex, Disintegrator basically doubles your DPS.

You also do not have cold conversion on gloves, you could get chaos conversion on amulet, Assasins Mark somewhere as well.

E.g, your current dps is 517K, lets see, if I add some stuff into pob.

Disintegrator bumps up this DPS to 946k just by itself.

Now, Wither bumps it to 1.2M.

Switching to Sin's Rebirth flask bumps it up to 1.5M DPS.

Adding Cold Conversion gloves (25%) bumps it up to 1.61M DPS.

And finally, switching to Hypothermia from Increased Critical Strikes bumps it up to 1.85M DPS.

Adding assasins mark ring bumps it up to 2.1M DPS.

That whole thing should be < 1ex. and it quadruples your DPS.

Eventually you want to also migrate to Taste of Hate, chaos conversion amulet, and switch controlled to Cold to Fire.

Also, the overall DPS will slightly rise, because Ass Mark ring is elder item and chaos conversion amulet shaper item, adding another 2 charges for Disintegrator.

And for clearing, you really should not need to Cyclone very often, just spin from time to time and run around, then spin again through pack, rinse and repeat, it should be faster than BV, and a lot better on bosses.

EDIT:

Also, when mapping, you mostly want to gem swap between Inc Aoe and Concentrated Effect (Conc Effect for bosses only, otherwise the aoe will be really tiny).

I've bought the Disintegrator staff and the DPS is way better, BUT this staff is KILLING me.

I'm taking 150 dmg per sec for every Siphoning Charge - I have 2 Siphoning charges at the moment (because of the amulet) and I'm taking 300 dmg per sec atm , which is a lot to handle.

If I add few more shaper/elder items to my set up, I will be taking 900-1350 dmg per sec ?! How do you mitigate this ? Energy shield leach and ES recharge is not going to be enough ?

ES regen based on POB is only 661.2.

Basalt Flask, Solaris/Lunaris, Ralakesh, honestly it should be *fine* as long as you have consecrated ground up or you are leeching.

You can also get Discipline ES regen watchers eye what is very cheap.

Also, Disintegrator is flat damage, but you regen and leech your ES in percentages, so generally, best thing in regards to survivability in this build is just invest into more flat ES.

Thanks!! I just got the disintegrator. Time to link it :)

I'm not sure about the price of the other items. Gloves with that enchant are like 40c, and neck and ring with ANY resist are in the same ballpark.
