I'm using haste over pride 100% of the time. Using an Aul's drops me from 16 zombies to 15 zombies but wouldn't the 20-40% extra physical make up for that?
You have to look at it from the point would you be using Pride or Haste in only 1 buff? Personally I take Pride, so I have to look at it against Haste. If I were to make the swap I'd lose ~150 strength, but I'm also not using the BiS amulet. That strength comes attached to a lot of stats with Baron + Shaper's Touch in the mix.
How useful is the minions deal additional dmg stat? Got a few abyssal jewels where I have it.
Adding it all up:
9-13 more chaos dmg
12-17 more physical dmg
3-22 more lightning dmg
If flat minion dmg is pretty good, I might switch from Chaos Golem to Carrion Golem then, not sure how impactful 4% phys dmg reduction is at this point.

I was wondering if it might be worth letting it absorb
and an empower then run another aura.. would it be worth it? or are other rings better? I don't need the res so i wouldn't really be giving anything up aside from some str and life.
What would you change? I'm at a point where I can do all endgame bosses but some attacks still oneshot me, minotaur charge or some Sirus attacks for example.
I think I could get better rings but all I see are 20 ex rings just slightly better

I wouldn't use a loop for your auras, if you want to use a loop, make a vaal skeleton ring with say Impale, Minion damage, Melee Physical, and Maim. Having skeletons as bossing support, long distance sniping and body blocking is a great tool.

good point, I think I'll try that. I'm still curious about running another aura with that setup, or even if it's worth it. duno what aura I would run or if those are even the best supports for it. It sounds like it could be powerful with the right aura but who knows? I'm still running all my other auras in the setup that is posted, but I think I can squeeze in another with more -% reserved mana and with the enlighten on the loop.
Also, I really don't like skele's but I'm willing to try it. Whenever I want to kill things and stay out of range I swap meat sheild for feeding frenzy and that gets the job done usually while I stay in a safe spot.

My necromancer seems to be doing very low dps (only 98k per minion) according to pob. Currently sitting at 1714 strength.
Here's my pob link.

Can someone take a look and tell me what I'm doing wrong and what I should upgrade? Thank you.
Here's my gear:
By flicking the encounter being shaper, your minions having frenzy & power charges aswell as avians might on i got it to 466k per, you just need to flick what you actually use :D
So I got a question about the auras. Is pride really that strong early on compared to other combinations?
I've been running (this is based on my char which is about 550k DPS per zombie; includes impale DPS):
Flesh and Stone + Maim (+24%)
Dread Banner + Generosity (+23%)
Purity of Elements
Aspect of the Avian (+19%, but its only up half the time so closer to 10%)
Summon Carrion Golem + Feeding Frenzy (+17%; 2% from Golem and 15% from FF)
This is everything in the main build except Pride. The big advantage to this setup is it can be used without any reduced mana reservation or the enlighten gem (though without Saqawal's Nest you're left with only 2% mana). This means those 4 tree points can go towards the DPS nodes earlier on in the leveling process further reducing the relative value of Pride.
The above setup is technically one more gem than the guide but that's because I don't run VMS (plus a few other differences but not really relevant to the aura discussion). For same number of gems I'd probably drop generosity which is worth only about 6%.
It just seems like it's not worth the massive investment (both in gear and skill tree points) until you're well into end game gear/level. Granted I'm coming at this from the point of view that I'm never dropping Purity of Elements, makes gearing much easier plus the chaos resist Watcher's Eye is awesome.
The reason i prefer pride early on is cause it gives ~20% more damage and ~40% more damage after 4 seconds. it just gives more damage when you need it and decent damage all the time. Atleast this is my view of it. Hopefully you get my logic.

Sadly flat damage isn't really something we want to scale on zombies. The carrion golem adds about 1-2% damage at endgame setup at best.
