" I made 2 with fossil crafting and it really didnt take that long. Probably 9-10 crafts for each. Also, were those alts you had saved? Because alts are not cheap right now. They are a little over 4 to 1 right now. Yes, its crazy this league. 4.3 alts per chaos. So you spent around 94 chaos alt spamming that if you used 400. A fossil craft is about 5 chaos per craft. So, you could have done 18 or 19 fossil crafts for the same amount of alts you used. And crafting site says its generally 1/48 for 70+ life and -9. And its generally a 200 chaos cost in crafting mats before you get it. Alts, for 70 life and -9, is 1/3200, and has an average cost of about 1300 chaos orbs to pull off. If you are just going for -9 resist, its about 1/320, and a 100 chaos orb cost on average to get -9. So overall, I think if all you care about is -9, then alts is ok. But if you want life and possible resists, I'd stick to fossils. I did the same thing wiht a pair of a gloves. I hit Chaos damage over time and Strike skills additional 1 on gloves with just alts. Thats like 1/32000, lol. And I had been up forever, awake at 5am, and I didnt even think about multi-modding them so I regaled some junk life regen on it, kinda bricked them, and sold them off. I should have multi-modded them; they would have been better than what I'm wearing. I still think most people will have more success fossil crafting the helm, because they will end up with a better item most of the time. But if all you really care about is -9 and dont mind crafting 60 life on it, then alts will be cheaper on average by half. But, its an end-game item; I'd just go for a good roll, personally. Helm is like one of htose things you start finishing the build with, so I personally wouldn't skimp on it with just -9 and some life crafted on it. I'd take my shot at a good one. ^^ that chance sounds about right from my previous crafts. Crafted about 5-6 of those helmets and 10 tries would be some average.
Alts are expensive because no one picks up rares due to fast paced league. |

Currently testing fixes for survivability:
7% phasing on kill jewel to help with WB bugging in packs (not sure what's up with this skill btw but when the server lags its horrible) Warding flask Optimized flasks to compensate losing "Of Reflexes" (Iron Skin was 63%, now 97% increased armour) Overcapped resists just in case 10% block at the cost of a little under 100 life | |

Just bought two elder imperial claws on Xbox ..
Both item level 85 . So far I tried 3 craft attempts (with the metallic , corroded , aberrant ) and hit the poison mod 3 times but no chaos damage each time . Just wondering on average how many times it takes for you guys to hit the right mods ? |

" It's not like i didn't try fossil crafting first. Within 120 tries with aberrant/pristine I hit -9chaos only 3 times. Only one of these had a liferoll at all, and it was t11 or something. Fossils do not seem to like me, I'm also way over 150 tries on claws, and still one of my claws has 9% attacks speed, the other has nothing at all. " I fully understand. Its just RNG, it dont matter if its a 1 in 2 chance, you could do 100 and never get it, lol. I feel the same way about my claws. Luckily, I was crafting them early enough in the league that I could keep selling off the super mediocre ones for cost or an exalt or 2 more, so I could keep crafting, and my claws are STILL bad. Or at least mediocre for how many I crafted. I crafted I dunno how many, sold I dunno how many, and never ended up with a single claw that could have Ias and chaos dmg over time on them. I got one with IaS, and one that could have chaos over time but no Ias. I stopped there for now. Rolling claws now would probably just be a sunk cost until I got what I wanted; but thats probably my biggest upgrade left outside of saving for some big item like HH. Its much cheaper to roll helms than claws, too. Its only like 5-6c worth of fossils/resonators per roll. Thats not bad compared to when I was spamming claws at 20c a roll. I think the hardest part is just getting the base if you want it with an enchant on it. The enchants are honestly pretty mediocre, though. They dont give as much damage as the -9. I actually went with Blood Rage enchant because it was more damage than both Pestilent and Viper, seemed easier to get(the 2 I crafted were cheaper blood-rage helms), and has more potential for resell if it comes out with a bunch of spell damage or something on it(My first one was like a perfect Poison Blade Vortex helm so I just had to sell it). It also allowed me to swap between all the poison skills for something different if I get bored. If any newer players are reading this and want a helm, I'd forgo the enchant if you cant afford it and just focus on getting a -9 helm, and leave the enchant for finishing touch stuff.
