[3.21] 🌿Ultimate Claw Poison Pathfinder - Untouchable Viper - Molten Strike update by FEL
Why Melee physical damage support instead of unbound ailments on the melee setup?
In your PoB, swapping those two increases dps alot. Maybe I'm missing something
" oh that's a mistake, tnx for noticing. I'll correct it :) |

" Melee phys scales poison dps so it acts "faster" Unbound ailments scale poison duration so you can stack more poisons and therefore bigger total dps. Use whatever you want. I just liked melee phys more... Last edited by TorsteinTheFallen on Apr 3, 2020, 7:57:46 PM

" I see! Makes sense. Thanks :)
Went back to Pestilent strike for a little while. It just clears better than Viper, but viper way better to kill elder slayers and Sirius/bosses with.
I been using melee splash just becuase I wanna continue to level my awakened one, and it feels pretty good. I guess because it makes it a non-namelock skill, so it just feels better to use, even though it does hurt the damage. Its only noticeable on tanky rares or bosses if I dont feel like swapping. But seems fine instead of call. Feels better ot use, trash dies anyways. |

I use awakened unbound instad of vile toxin

How are you all doing in clearing Simulacrum?
I can clear all 20 stages and get 4 stacks each run, sometimes only 3. When I switch to Cyclone (Cyclone, Fortify, Melee Phys, Added Chaos, Deadly Ail, Vile Tox) I can 4 stacks each run, sometimes 5. So Cyclone is much more reliable. Atm I run a build with no cluster jewels and the Scion life weel filled out. On poe.ninja I am #1 in life and #8 in dmg. Do you get more stacks on average? What is your strategy?
" I get like 4.9 to 5.5 every run, if you look at the picture. Those 4.9 looking ones are annoying. I think I might have gotten 6 a couple times with the stars align. Really depends on the layouts. Some maps are just bad for something like Viper strike. I'd love to use Pestilence, but it would probably crash my PC in there, or I'd die lagged out. I been using unbound ailments, I'm gonna try Vile toxins today when I get enough splinters see if doing dmg a smidge faster can sneak me into those 5's where I'm right on the edge. Something Ive noticed is trying to hop around and kill everything slows me down. If there is 2 rooms sectioned off, I generally do much more poorly trying to go down to the other room to kill those mobs. I dunno how the mapo works but its like the more stuff you kill in one area, the better stuff spawns there. It may be all anecdotal, but I did notice the more I jump from room to room or area to area, the worse it seems my score is, even if it felt like it was the right hting to do. I only do that when they are like all dead and taking like 1 second to respawn. I may hop down or up and kill it and go back to the good room. The map layout plays a huge part, too. Like the Act 3 map, your explosions and Plague bearer can reach the guys on the stairs without you having to go up there. Thre are some maps that is not possible you have to hop around alot, and in those maps, its just not gonna be as good. Also, I hate the act 7; you get stuck on the pillars because Whirling blades cannot go through them or around them, and I die the most in that PoS. But yea, I'm right on the cusp of at least 5 every run. Its like 4.9, if I had one more pack of monsters to kill it would be 5. Generally I do get 5 on good maps. I think you just have to stay in there and kill it, too. When you start having to skirt the outsides to live, its probably not gonna be a good map. I'm gonna see if Vile Toxins makes a difference today. And I got a new upgrade, may make it easier, too. You could try Pestilent and see how it goes; it should in theory do better than Viper. But My PC cannot handle it in those big waves, and I jus dont feel like dying either. But thats the 2 things Ive really noticed. Lay out, what RNG map you get, and moving room to room, even if the other has a billion mobs, seems to hurt. It probably dont on some range character who can just shoot something into the room/area and not even leave the main area, but on a melee skill like Viper, moving room to room matters. |
