[3.12] Double Strike / Flicker Assassin ~ League starter and ender! U-Elder and U-Atziri deathless!

You're doing great for being new to the game. The game is supposed to be hard, and you're doing end game content. The guardians especially take practice. And this build is one that requires you to have fast reflexes to dodge mechanics, so it takes more skill than a tanky cyclone build that just plows through.

Okay, so all of your gear can stand to be upgraded.

Try not to ever get resists or accuracy on swords, or you have to replace multiple pieces to upgrade them. Neither sword has multiplier. Get a better Belly, 39 or 40%. gloves are decent, but need higher phys damage. But, since the have mana leech, you can take the mana leech off the tree and put that point elsewhere, like more life. Amulet needs more phys but is decent. Your offhand ring needs physical damage, but it's decent. Your belt has armor and evasion added onto it for some reason, take that off in favor of increased damage of some kind. Replace that granite flask with Lions' Roar. One of your jewels is missing life %. On the tree, you skipped Sleight of Hand at shadow start and took Aspect of the Panther and Weapon artistry, which should be taken dead last, like 96. Also, upgrading your double strike to 21/23 will be helpful for single target as well. Adding quality to your gems in general will be very helpful. I rarely sell any quality gems, I save them all to vendor for GCPs. If you sell multiple quality gems to a vendor, for every total of 40% between the gems, you'll get a GCP. That is how I get all my gems to 20% every league. Just keep upgrading and practicing. Next league you will know more and achieve your goals faster.

I've went over the skill tree dozens of times and did not notice that slip, thank you for pointing that out!

I've been looking mostly at pDPS and attack speed when choosing swords. The MH was bought for 2ex as the one giving the biggest DPS boost in 1-3ex price range (checked in PoB). I assumed implicit crit multi would suffice. The accuracy being there is just a coincidence. As for the other one, yeah, resists were a big mistake. I take it the extra crit multiplier stat on the sword beyond the implicit modifier is pretty much a requirement, right?

I'm working on upgrading the gems, currently leveling a 14% Vaal DS I dropped somewhere. Getting a 21/23 would require me to buy a simple DS, then make it to +20% and then corrupt with Vaal Orb hoping for the best?

If you were at 100% hit chance already, then it's no worry. The tricky part will come if you upgrade another item with accuracy and replace it with a lower acc item, then you can't upgrade the sword later. Just something to keep in mind. The explicit multi isn't a requirement, but if you want much higher dps, that will be extremely important. And no, the only way to get a 21/23 gem is to double corrupt it in the temple. Otherwise, you can get level 21 on it or 23% quality, but not both at once. That's if you don't brick it. Best to just buy one.
Hey there!

I've been greatly enjoying this build for a while now, carefully dipping into the higher tier red maps. Still the victim to unexpected one shots here and there, but other than that I feel like I'm not doing too bad. Been trying to get my weapons and necklace upgraded but I'm not super lucky with finding ones that are within my budget. Naturally some of my other gear could do with an upgrade too, but weapons and necklace seem most important for me now. Specifically because I don't feel like it's worth annointing my current necklace.

Picked this guy up for 1 chaos, but I'm not entirely sure how I'd go about calculating whether it's better or not. For the most part I've just been looking at what you've mentioned for each piece of gear and cater towards that :'D

Do you happen to have any tips? I'm not asking you to check out my character, primarily because I know you posted you're not doing that anymore, but if you do choose to check out what's up and give me some pointers I'll be forever grateful!

Rapid fire tips, here we go.
Use PoB for all new purchases and get the fork for it from Local Identity, google it if you don't know what I mean
Watch the Chaos Report on youtube by Luna Wolve.
Try to always make a profit on everything you buy and sell later.
Don't let shit sit in your stash and stagnate, sell that shit. Set an item at an optimistic price point and back it down slowly.
One I discovered this league, buying div cards that give currency is SO MUCH faster than just buying exalts, people will actually respond to you if you want to buy their div cards.

Thanks for taking your time to write out all those tips! I now know what to do :)

Cheers, amazing build!
Hey, this looks like a fun guide!

I'm already trying a fairly expensive one and would love to start another, low-cost build. Do you know roughly how expensive this one would be to complete?

Thanks!

Depends on your idea of complete. 6 link Belly is around 6 ex, Hatred Watcher's Eye is around 11 ex, Paradoxica was 6 ex, res was less. Saviour was 16 ex, but that I bought on a whim on my last day of really being active this league. 20 ex should be Sirus 8 viable easily.
How do you change to spec to deal with Sirius?

I had a hard time with him last time I tried but I have gotten a lot more damage and a bit more survival since then.

But was wondering of something can be easily changed to make the fight easier :)

You should be able to easily take sirus down with your gear, maybe you need to learn his mechanics. Lil tip turn your dialogue volume up and listen to him.
He always do The same things, so if he says Die! Just leap slam and dodge that beam. I had hard times with him even with my gear because of me being dumb as fuck. ;)

This is key. Learn the mechanics and listen for audio clues.

DIE! = Die beam
Feel the thrill of THE VOID = Die beam
You will long for NON-EXISTENCE = Die beam
Nice build. How do you deal with the lack of damage after flask and summons? I feel like I should be pretty decently strong, but I struggle tougher bosses; specifically the ones that have phases since that wastes all my summons' times.

Also what item filters do you all use?
