How the fuck do I craft this mana reservation spell block shield? I think craftofexile is wrong on the average combination outcomes too, because it says 23 chaos spams on average and llike 52=53 alt augs and ive hit both mods at the same time 0 times and have literally spent 500 alts and 300 chaos trying to get both on the shield.
Any help please, it is driving me fucking crazy.
EDIT: Finally hit it after some more chaos spam. Guess it was worth it since I bought the base for less than 2 ex + maybe 1ex in alts and 3 ex in chaos. Def cheaper than buying one with those mods already.
You had it setup to count hitting either mod on its own as a success. Hitting both at the same time takes on average 3200c. So you actually got really lucky.
On this subject, I would really like to know what the easiest way to craft this shield is since that's kinda ridiculous.
Craft mine today for an 8 to 10ex budget, don't know if it's the best way to do it but here is how I did mine :
1. Alt spam + Aug to hit Spell block and Reservation
2. Regal it and hope you hit something you can remove (If you can't remove it with Harvest you can still imprint + annul)
3. At this step, you must have rare shield with just Spell Block and Reservation, block the last suffix with any non tag mod. I will describe how I did it and another method that could be better
3a. I aug cold 3 times and remove/add until I hit +1 cold gem then remove the others prefixes, since there are some double tags mods you could remove without risking to lose +1 cold
3b. After I hit, I saw there is maybe a better way. You aug caster 2 times then remove/add caster until you have +1 cold and here it is a 50/50 with remove
4. Aug Defence and remove/add defense until you have any T1 ES (or T2 if you're fine with it)
5. Craft %es or flat es depending on which T1 you got
6. Aug Defence, since there is only one Defence suffix you will have Revover ES on block

But as I said I might have been lucky on this and it is possibly no the best way to craft it, that's how I did it.

I’ve been looking at PoE ninja for the top CI builds and noticed the trend of them running the following setups:
Enlighten 4 + discipline + hatred in the shield
Precision 21 by itself
Herald of ice + inc crit + woke AOE.
That is 4 auras in total.
Every single time I import their POB from PoE ninja it has them as a negative in the mana reserved section (anywhere from -2% to -5%).
This could simply be a miscalculation but I can’t figure out for the life of me how they are managing to run these auras in addition to casting dash/vortex/etc???? Can someone please help me understand this?
I believe I know half of my problem in that you need to be ~level 99/100 in order to have the mana left over to cast but I just want someone to let me know if I’m missing something completely please.

Realistically the HoI explosion is pretty tiny so increased area of effect doesn't do that much. If you have assmark ring and Bottled Faith and you're zooming around mapping your HoI is going to crit an awful lot too so you might not even feel the difference between foregoing the two supports. I've tried it both ways and didn't feel any difference whatsoever playing with and without the supports. Still using them since I don't know what else to do.
If you're still mana starved there's nothing wrong with the Influence cluster. The non-curse aura buff affects discipline too so you get a decent amount of ES from it. On my tree for the 3 points I would get 3.5% more damage + equivalent of a 9.5% increased ES node + 4% reduced mana reserved. Not too bad.

Not using this setup at the moment, but the build can definitely hold all the auras and have ~26-30ish mana leftover. If you wanted a bit more, you could use life/mana catalyst on your circle of fear or use 1 RMR jewel.
