Wolcen Hype Release!

Indeed, keep telling yourself that, I'm sure in your convoluted imagination, what you say actually makes some sort of sense.

Don't even bother with this guy. He is more or less proud that he doesn't have a single supporter pack, yet he has 40/40 for like 6 leagues straight. He is also proud to support this hot trash wolcen and these clueless developers.

How are they not able to "expect" the players that they are going to have when all of the sales are digital? And people knew that the price will increase on release.

Game is not even worth wasting your time to pirate.

You can choose gender while creating character.

Which you can already do in d3

I do not know what elements you are referring to, but I didn't felt playing a copy-cat either at all.
There is just one fight that I found more or less hugely inspired by PoE except that, it was common stuff that we can find since years and even decades in video games at all :)

I think its heavily D3 inspired. I mean, there are things that look like they come right out of D3, down to the art style. The cursed chests for example, look straight out of d3. Health globes, vanilla d3 fighting style, map, etc. I think its far more D3 vanilla than anything else. Its got smidges of PoE with a skill-tree, but thats about where that comparison ends.

This seems more like a d3 vanilla mod, if blizzard allowed mods, lol. They took vanilla D3, and added some PoE/current D3 elements and hit release.
Wolcen was at first more unique but ever since the developers saw D3's success they decided to make a D3 clone.

Stolen? Like what? You really think Diablo 3 and PoE never got their inspiration from various games, shows, books, board games and so on as well? :/

i never said or thought that d3 and poe didnt get some inspiration from books or other sources but there`s a difference between inspiration and an obvious stolen copy.

also, its not about "some" copies. i played act 1 and like all monster are from d3. the game looks like they took everything from d3 (including server issues at the start) and poe.

And I dont think they cloned much of what makes D3 playable today. It honestly feels like Vanilla D3, even down to the itemization. The only thing added to the vanilla D3 experience is a map/rift system that is sorta meh, and a skill-tree.

I'm 100% only playing it because its at least "new," in a sense. But I cant see this game lasting over a month or 2 in its current state, and I cant see them making it any better in that time-frame either. They have way too many bugs and things to fix.

You know, I think this is the first online game I have ever played that doesnt even have chat. It literally has zero online functions. I keep wondering why I'm even attempting to play online, because the game is so buggy and exploitable that any sort of leaderboard/pvp/economy endgame they attempt to add, is going to require a wipe.

Like right now, you can infinitely stack magic find. If you dont kill the boss, the magic find will carry over to the next map, so on and so forth. There was people in Early Access stacking it up to 2200%+; and that bug still exists in release. You get stuff happening like what was happening to alkaiser, where chests are spewing items.

I also question any sort of anti-cheat they may have with how much trouble they are currently having. Its probably completely nonexistent.

I dont see a long life-span for this game at all. Just enjoy it while its sorta fresh, clone or not. I cant see it surviving much past this. Seems like a cash-out game to me. They run out of funds in Early Access, dumped it for more, and who knows if they are going to put those funds into making the game better.

I laughed hard when you pointed d3 server issues :D //memories
But yeah I get your point, there are few similarities but I'm still not much astonished to be honest, just check games like League of Legend or Smite, 90% of content comes from various games, animes, and they even copied themselves in some cases wich is incredibly fun at this point.

Same goes for skill tree, PoE used FFX one as base idea then went from this to obtain their result. I can imagine the FFX tree was inspired hugely by a game I don't recall* wich had a shitloads of nodes and it's going like that for kinda everything at all.
PoE monsters for some of them also refer to various games in some cases.

As for server issues some peoples tend to over-simplify how the whole thing work and come with rocket-science argues, it's not tied to video games it's just more visible in this field, but no this process is much more harder than "watching sales" and BAM a wild estimation appear! Ahah
Give me a moment I will find a dev talk that was pretty much covering this part few years ago already, very accurate and interesting infos if it can interest anyone - Will edit post once I find it back.
Hf :)

There's no such thing as stealing in game development unless you literally copy assests from one game to another. Game development is a "standing on the shoulders of giants" thing. No need to re-invent the wheel.
GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.
I'm amused by the people expecting "flawless launch" when they alpha test for free for a billion dollar company when TGGG releases a new league every 3 months and they don't say a word about how full of bugs, crashes, lag (due to overloaded servers), dc's happen..

seriously.. some of you are beyond redemption with being a true loyalist (word I'm kindly using here, not really meaning it but ToS friendly)
"Parade your victories, hide your defeats. Mortals are so insecure."

Once you break the cycle of fear no angels or demons can whisper you their sweet nothing words.

Retired since crucible.(Not a free tester anymore for a multi billion dollar company).

Why do people keep imagining Tencent gives GGG free money? They own the company, and extract returns from that stake. They're not a charity.
