FF7 was the first FF game I played that I got bored of and didn't finish. I disliked it enough at the time (I don't really remember why now, it was so long ago, though I'm pretty sure part of the reason was I didn't like the switch from 2D to 3D graphics) that I never played another FF game again.

people like you are the reason nobody can have a civilized conversation about VII or any game that people gush over.

once again, this thread isnt about the OG game. why do people keep coming in and giving their opinion followed by you giving one-liner comments as to how you think they are wrong cause you think its the best ever made...

can you just keep to the point of the thread?

had to edit that reply or it would have gotten reported again by a certain someone....

"You Monster" is a sarcastic response to something you dont agree with.

It is meant to be humorous.

Switch to decaf.

On topic, I played the demo. Loved it, was too short, but was promising.

This is insta-preorder for me. Cant wait, and love FF7

same here. while i do think its fun, im not a fan of the "chip damage" style of combat (guard bars, chip damage, and stagger mechanics just kill my soul). but its not nearly as bad as 95% of other games that have those mechanics. thank god for that.

one thing im really looking forward to is character development. hearing the chit chat between party members randomly and the personality growth of side-characters really has me interested.

You hyped me :), but sadly its Playstation demo only..

FFVII was my first or second game on PSX. 4 CDs.. like wtf :).

First day I have tried it for an hour.

Next day I wanted to play again an hour, but suddenly my girlfriend was waking up to job. I have been playing it whole night and didnt noticed at all.

Finished game few times, all stuff stolen, all gems, everything maxed, all characters, all Limits.. everything.

Story was great and the way they presented Sephiroth and what he could do... That was amazing... I was just.. wooooow :). Yeah.. my first jrpg :).

One of best games ever.

I hate to admit this, but me too. I bought a PS4 in anticipation for this very title, and to share the story with my sons. I'm going to buy all the parts even if they're shit, and I just hope they aren't.

The game itself is one of the more mediocre final fantasy titles

This is the worst fucking opinion I have ever seen. There is no way I can ever look at anything you say the same.

Spoiler
end hyperbole

This game is one of, if not my most, favorite games of all-time.

It has everything. Im eagerly waiting to play as many damn parts as they want to put out to make this a big as it should be.

I also happy to share this experience with my niece & nephew as it will be their first experience. I'm actually jealous and cant wait to see their reactions.

May god have mercy on your soul.

I would say the game is overrated because there are so many people who says FF7 is the best RPG of all time, while there are games such as Chrono Trigger, Baldur's Gate 2 or FF6. But that being said, Final Fantasy 7 is up there among the classics, it's one of the best RPG ever made. And it still stand up today to modern game.
I don't think FF7 is the best JRPG by design.
I don't think FF7 has the best Final Fantasy storyline — I give that to FFX, personally. (I hate FFX-2 so much.)

I just think Sephiroth is the best Final Fantasy villain. Narrowly — Kefka is a close second. And that Sephiroth is as a result one of the best video game villains of all time.
And yes, a lot of that is their associated music. But not all. One Winged Angel is pretty epic, but it's no Dancing Mad.

that is one thing that ff7 has over....probably any other game i've played (though i haven't nearly played all of even the "epic" or "classic" games) is the soundtrack.

its what sucked me into the game as hard as it did when i was 14
