it's my personal choice for damage and defense.

I just reached 24 challenges with the build (despite stupid maven who decided to stop collecting my boss kills since today...). Really great build! simulacrum and domain of timeless conflict deathless, sirus A8 done (despite stupid game who spawned me into death...). Well done angryroleplayer! Since the ballista build, you are my go-to guy for path of exile :)

the gloves are applying blood magic on traps, so they cost no mana. Huge change :)

Maybe I'm doing something wrong but I don't see how I can even activate precision. When I have a skitterbots, herld of ash and flammability/blasphemy my mana reserved is 98 percent. I don't have an issue casting traps or anything, but I don't have enough unreserved mana to also add precision.... Am I doing something wrong?

Hard to tell, it's not that needed anyway. Depends on your free mana

Strange, I can activate precision lev2 with 1062 mana (and I still have 21 mana left). And you have a "non-channeling skills" mana reduction too... I don't see either what could do that in the skill tree.
I would advice you to get 21/23 gems if possible (awakened elemental focus and controlled destruction are not bad either).
