Is Terraria good?

I bought Terraria for my kids. They played it a lot, so I've watched it a lot. I ended up playing it myself to the endgame.

I also bought Minecraft for my kids. They played it a lot, so I've watched it a lot. But I have no interest in playing it myself.
When Stephen Colbert was killed by HYDRA's Project Insight in 2014, the comedy world lost a hero. Since his life model decoy isn't up to the task, please do not mistake my performance as political discussion. I'm just doing what Steve would have wanted.

Terraria i feel is one of the greatest games released. i acutally don't even play it a ton, i play poe more and stuff. i do find it hard to get back into when i've taken long breaks from it, but the game is simply incredible.

with the 1.4 release coming i can't wait to get back into it. the music is amazing too.

i just like how terraria can be as simple or complex as you like it to be. you can beat the game without making the craziest shit and doing all the farming etc. or you can get so in depth you're just lost in the game forever

im glad i own it because its something i can always turn to instead of spending money on overrated unfinished 90 dollar bullshit releases today
Have any of you guys played both Terraria and Starbound?

I loved Terraria; how does Starbound compare?
