Last Epoch latest patch feels really good
An interesting note - the game is currently dominated by a bugged immortal build and EHG refuse to fix the bug because of the PoE logic - can't change uber strong builds in the middle of a cycle. Heh, so many good things to steal from PoE and they chose that

" They're actually going to patch it this week. |

" I rather suspect that now they have committed to this it's going to be a game of whack a mole for a while while people keep finding broken interactions. |

Hmmm I wonder if Last Epoch actually influenced PoE's incoming league. One of LE's biggest advantages, according to many, is how accessible the endgame is. And now PoE allows you to always run your favorite league mechanics without bothering with sextants and scarabs. It is a big improvement, don't get me wrong, but it really could have came out earlier

Ok, this is crap. The biggest flaw with the end-game system is that you need to go through all timelines until you reach the real end-game - empowered monoliths. On every character. That's right, this is not PoE where you can blast through tier 16s on a level 70 character, you need to spend hours doing those stupid timeless for a chance of useless tier 6 rares and boss uniques.
And they "addressed" it. Not by allowing us to skip timelines mind you, but by buying a consumable to "accelerate" the process of doing them. Their excuse? New players. Seriously. This is crap. I feel like they want to keep this for the sake of artificially increasing the play time. In PoE I am actually excited to try different builds. In Last Epoch I make 1 character and don't bother making others afterwards because I don't feel like going through the entire timeline bullshit. Last edited by Johny_Snow on Jun 25, 2024, 7:07:16 PM

Well, at least Avalanche is looking good. Will definitely try it it has a lightning variant.

I cannot fathom how anyone could even get past timelines in this game, I almost fell asleep after ~1hour of rushing the same handful of objectives in what is essentially a 'mapping' system that is even more bare bones than vanilla poe.
It's as if they looked at all the progress poe has made in endgame over the past ~5 years and decided to ignore ALL OF IT. | |
" the way i see it, it was a natural conclusion. poe has tons of side content and players either loved it or hated it. it also reduced the amount of "feels bad" moment when players spec into a content but the content does not appear in a map. people who min-max are gonna by scarabs to ensure the content appears anyway, while those that dont just feel salty that it doesnt pop up. why go thru the hassle? just let players choose if they want the content to appear every single map. its a feature ive asked for, so many years ago. its quite ironic that by the time they actually implement it i was done with poe1. as for sextant and scarabs, i think ggg one day realized that it was just a lot of extra work for the players. players spent a lot of time trading for scarabs and sextants. a few of the issues were 1, players who didnt like using scarabs, 2, players afraid of using scarabs because they were "valuable", 3 trading for scarabs took a lot of time. this was the same with sextants. they recognized the issue and transfered sextant features onto scarabs and gave players a way to increase or stop scarabs from dropping and allowed players to go either way. pretty nice way to solve many issues at once. i dont see how LE influenced this. " the game is fairly new, they have a lot of catching up to do. thats granted. as for rushing the same objectives. how different is it from poe? every league i have to re-unlock 131 maps. i need to run roughly 50-100 witnessed maps to attempt maven. i need to run 24 maps for eater/exarch respectively. i need to run a minimum of 32 maps to get uber elder/shaper. run special witnessed maps to unlock the last few atlas points. thats a lot of map rushing we have to do. but while we're at it lets not forget the other steps we need to go thru. we also used to have to do ascendancy trials. we have to go thru the lab 4 times to fully unlock our character. we also had to farm legion a buttload of times to get enough splinters to summon a 4way. now its "easier/harder" where we just need to get lucky and get a t17 and clear the t17. which tbh can be impossible for weaker players or to certain builds as the mods either be too difficult for players to handle or are specifically mods that kill off your build's effectiveness. dont forget we have to choose between gear with stat upgrades vs gear that has proper sockets. if you use one main skill, you need to farm at least 1500 fusings. double that if you use 2 "main skills". dont forget you need to colour them. so theres waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more things to do in poe before you actually start getting to the optimized juiced maps with your build unlocked. and having played poe1 for so many years. i really dont understand how people find this enjoyable anymore. Tbh, I never used a single scarab this league and was able to farm just fine. This makes unlocking the 5th map slot pointless. As for "1,500" fusings - they make it easier and easier to find six-links every league. Not even talking about trade league. If you don't have a six-link by day 2 in a trade league you are either not playing or playing so little you don't really need it yet.
